"This is an old, run-down hotel that looks NOTHING like the pics. It is not in a good area (we had to be there for work) so we did not expect the Ritz, but it was Really BAD. Our room was not ready when we arrived, so we PAID, checked in, and left our bags. When we returned a few hours later, the man at reception could not even find our reservation! We gave our names, passports, and even the room number we were told we'd get, but it still took him 15 minutes to find the room we ALREADY PAID FOR. Then he rolled out someone else's luggage, because he couldn't find ours! Each bag is numbered and tagged, so this carelessness is inexcusable. Also, there is not enough hot water for 2 people to take a shower after a 15 hour flight, nor do they have ice (!) bc they lost the recipe. TRULY AWFUL - you will do better to stay in a hostel."

"Loved the fact the hotel room was spacious and air conditioned. It was a real relief to go back to a nice cool room for some well deserved rest after Disneyland in a heatwave! Room itself is fine, as described, with fridge and some equipment for serving a light meal. No tea towels though so bring your own, or can request extra towel from reception. My wallet got stolen on the train, but the receptionist on duty at 11:30pm was not very knowledgeable or in any way inclined to help apart from issuing a new key card, so I spent 2 hours trying to file a French police report with google translate, when I could have gone to the train station ticket office to report it, which would have been much quicker. The host is the source of local knowledge for travellers, and this attitude contravenes expectations, hence I did not give higher rating."

"Check in process took ages, i think they are short of staff, we had stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and 5 days, and every time when we were leaving the hotel or coming back, we saw a queue of people waiting to be checked in, I think they need to increase the staff presence or maybe coach the current staff to be more efficient as they current one, especailly the bald guy is very very laid back and i can certainly say that he doesn't even like to lift a finger as when asked for a bathroom key he said i have to wait to be checked in even when he confirmed that i had reservation for 4 nights for 3 rooms, that particular staff need to be seen and managed. overall my experience was 5/10."

"I loved my stay at Hotel PiaPia! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the property and room were both incredibly clean. The A/C was a lifesaver during a heatwave, and the location is amazing - steps away from the 1 and a less than 10-minute walk to the Nation metro stop. I even felt safe coming and going from the hotel at night. This is my favorite hotel I have ever stayed in abroad, and I will be back!"
