"We loved this retreat, it was the last leg of our trip and it was neat to be able to stay in a turf house. Everything there was made locally in Iceland you can tell the owners put a lot of thought in it and the private soak tub for each house was lovely. We got to see the northern lights the service was excellent and the house had a full kitchen and dining table to eat."

"We enjoyed our stay at Fosshotel. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Food was fresh and delicious. Our room does not have an air-con but it has window shutters that you can open to allow cool air in. Beds and pillows are comfortable after the long day tour. Amenities are acceptable. Staff are friendly and approachable. You dont have to go anywhere as Bus station 12 is conveniently located at the side of the hotel to wait for the tour buses. The hotel is at walkable distance to the nearest Bonus (Skipholt) grocery store to buy snacks stash for tours."

Parking was a challenge with only 8 spots available but once you navigate the Parka App, wasn't that big of a hassle. Beds were move of a queen size than a double so that was nice. "We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was a last-minute pivot to book here and we did not regret it. The front desk was very kind and helpful, checking into our room was a breeze, and the bar was a lovely place to unwind and grab a cocktail. "After checking into a couple self check in places we realized that you must enter the code in slowly, it seems if you press the numbers quickly that it doesn't recognize it and fails. Once we figured it out the self check in went smoothly."

"This would not be for everyone but you have to be prepared to stay in a clear “igloo” like bubble. Staff was friendly and there upon arrival but it is a small cabin with 2 shared bathrooms and showers for everyone staying. There is a fridge and coffee if wanted. The only thing in the bubble is a very comfortable bed, a small light and electric outlet. Each bubble is private and there is nothing like looking overhead into trees and the sky. The bed was the most comfortable bed with plenty of down pillows and comforters. They give you a lantern if you need to use it for the evening. We woke up to the sunrise very refreshed. Definitely an interesting and fun experience."
