"Excellent location. Very lovely grounds, which connect to a paved path that winds along the strip of hotels along the cliff overlooking the beach and the vast Pacific. Dining options are a short drive away. Staff are very helpful. We didn’t try the pool and hot tub, but they appeared very inviting in better weather. The room was nicely appointed and the bed very comfortable. The only item less than 5 stars is the property condition, which is a bit dated, having been built in the 1970’s. The property overall doesn’t need work, but a room-by-room updating would be in order. For the room we stayed in, the electrical outlets could be moved to be adjacent to the furniture and eliminate the unsightly power cords. The sofa’s woodwork is a bit worn, and could be replaced with a more comfortable one (rolled arms rather than wood frame). Overall, though, a very nice experience and very good value. "

"I had an amazing stay at Backside Bay Inn! I booked a balcony room and was blown away by the gorgeous view of the Bay—especially for the great rate I got. The room was spotless, and the entire property was beautiful to walk around. I genuinely wish I could’ve stayed longer. Big shoutout to the manager, Dan the Man. I arrived late at night, and he made the after-hours check-in completely seamless. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, which made a huge difference after a long day of travel. I definitely plan to stay here again in the future!"
