"It was a nice place with great staff. The rooms were a little small. The greatest complaint was that there was frequently almost no hot water for showers. The breakfast was decent, but it was the same every morning. No variation, so it became a bit monotonous."

"We stayed at Hotel Major for three nights, and honestly, it was a very frustrating experience from the very first night. The entire second floor, especially our room, had a strong sewer smell that made it extremely unpleasant to stay there. We raised this immediately and asked for help or a room change. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the staff brushed it off, even though other reviews mention the same problem. When they finally agreed to move us, it had to be before 1 p.m., which was impossible since we had excursions starting at 9 a.m. They refused to accommodate a later change, which felt completely unreasonable. Housekeeping also threw away our laundry detergent and toothbrushes. Maybe it was accidental, but it added to the frustration. What really upset us was the air conditioning being turned off at night. The room became unbearably hot, and when we called at 1 a.m., it was switched back on within seconds. That made it feel like guest comfort was secondary to cost saving. The manager, “Luigi,” was never available when we asked, yet somehow always in the background. He never once spoke to us directly and only appeared at checkout. We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time, and this stay put a real damper on it. Very disappointing overall. I would not recommend this hotel."

"Great location for walking to many of the sights and tour pick up areas. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is older but clean and quiet. Old school Europe feel. Don't expect American style hotel bed and furnishing but we had everything we needed. Ala cart breakfast price of 5 Euros was a deal and a nice option"

"Extremely beautiful old world style hotel. I love this hotel! And the room that you see in the brochure… is the one you get to stay in! Lovely breakfast, large windows , comfortable beds, nice quality linens, huge and wonderful bathrooms. But best of all great security, wonderfully helpful staff, and an excellent location. My only hotel for Rome! "
