About this property
1 Bed in Cross (oc-b29655)
Unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this serene single-storey glamping pod on the outskirts of the town of Axbridge. Sleeping two people in one inviting bedroom area, this is a perfect accommodation choice for couples dreaming of a romantic break in Somerset together. The Strawberry Line, a 10-mile route that runs between Yatton and Cheddar, runs behind the pod, so romantic country walks are available right from your doorstep. For days out, you could head into the cathedral city of Wells (11 miles) to explore the 800-year-old Bishop’s Palace or browse the stalls of Wells’ Market. You’ll also find wonderful sandy beaches at Burnham-on-Sea (10.5 miles), Weston-super-Mare (10 miles) and Uphill (7.5 miles). For an outing with a difference, share a romantic stroll through the vineyard at Aldwick Estate (7.5 miles) and then savour the estate’s award-winning wines during a tasting session.
Accessed via a long private lane, this is one of two timber pods situated in a serene location among the rolling hills of Somerset, with the Quantocks and Mendip walking trails right on the doorstep. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a surprisingly spacious open-plan studio that cleverly features lounge, kitchen/diner and bedroom areas - all adorned with rustic wood walls. Relax in the cosy sitting area before heading to the sleek, compact kitchen area to rustle up some dinner, which you can enjoy at the cute breakfast table. After dinner, snuggle up on the sofa and take in the views over the paddock. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find an inviting double bed in the bedroom area. In the morning, wake up and refresh in the en-suite shower room, and then kick off your day with a freshly-brewed cup of coffee in the garden.
To the front of the pod, you’ll find a private seating area, as well as a shared garden lawn with a shared charcoal BBQ – perfect for al fresco dining. The private hot tub is particularly inviting at night, when you can enjoy a lazy soak under star-filled skies. There’s also a fire pit, so you can stargaze while you toast marshmallows. On-site stabling facilities for horse owners is also available at an extra cost; please contact us for more information. Private parking for 1 car.
