The Space:
Set within Waiheke Resort, Hibiscus Hideaway offers everything you need for a calm, beachside escape. The living area is open and filled with light, with glass doors leading to a private deck where you can enjoy morning coffee, sea air, and views across the palms to the bay.
Inside, the apartment is simply and thoughtfully designed, a comfortable lounge, dining nook, and a compact kitchenette equipped for easy breakfasts or simple meals. The bedroom feels relaxed and airy, with a super-king bed that can be split into singles on request. The modern bathroom includes a walk-in shower, soft lighting, and everything you need to refresh after a day at the beach.
The setting brings the best of both worlds, peaceful and private, yet close to Palm Beach, coastal walks, and the island’s favourite vineyard restaurants. After a day exploring, return to your deck, pour a glass of wine, and watch the evening settle over the bay.

Pool facilities are not complimentary for guests however the on site restaurant is open to the public. There is a fee of $10 per person, per day to use the pool. Access for children12 under is free but adult supervision is required and all adults will have to pay to gain access to the pool deck.

Pool facilities at Waiheke Resort are available for a small daily fee, $10 per person per day (children under 12 are free with adult supervision). The on-site restaurant is open to the public and a great option for a casual meal or evening drink without leaving the resort.
Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is by 10 : 30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible for an additional fee; we’ll confirm closer to your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Hibiscus Hideaway by Stay Waiheke sits within Waiheke Resort, a peaceful spot surrounded by native bush and sea air, just a five-minute walk from Palm Beach. It’s an easy place to settle into the island rhythm. Mornings start with coffee on your deck, and by afternoon you can be swimming, sunbathing, or picking up an ice-cream from the Palm Beach Store across the road.
Right within the resort, you’ll find a casual on-site restaurant and bar, open to the public, ideal for an effortless dinner or drink without leaving the property. For a relaxed brunch or lunch nearby, Arcadia Waiheke is a favourite for its great coffee, hearty island menu, and sunny deck.
A few minutes’ drive brings you into Oneroa Village, Waiheke’s main hub for food, coffee, and boutique shopping. Grab breakfast at Wai Kitchen, and make sure you get yourself a coffee, the coffee art is incredible. For lunch or dinner, Fenice serves wood-fired pizza and Italian plates, while Vino Vino and The Courtyard Garden Bar offer relaxed evening dining with wine and ocean views. Between meals, wander through the local boutiques, artisan stores, and galleries that line Ocean View Road, everything from island-made jewellery and ceramics to casual resort wear and homewares.
You’re also close to Waiheke’s main vineyard trail, with Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, and Casita Miro all within a short drive, perfect for long lunches among the vines before returning to your own quiet retreat above the bay.
By evening, Palm Beach softens into calm, the light fades, the air cools, and the island slows to its familiar, easy rhythm.
Getting Around:
The nearest bus stop on Palm Road is just a few minutes’ walk from your apartment, connecting you directly to Oneroa Village, Onetangi Beach, and the Matiatia ferry terminal.
If you’re heading out for wine tastings, the bus is the perfect way to explore, leave the car behind and relax over long lunches at Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, Casita Miro, or Wild on Waiheke, and maybe stop at The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery for craft beer and wood-fired food on your way back.
Taxis and rideshares operate across the island, though they can be expensive, especially in the evenings or on weekends. For something more relaxed, hire an e-bike or scooter in Oneroa and take your time discovering the coastline, beaches, and vineyards at your own pace.

Like many Waiheke homes, the apartment runs on rainwater, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully during their stay.

Our Stay Waiheke team is available seven days a week from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with after-hours support for anything urgent. Once you’ve checked in, the apartment is yours to enjoy, private, comfortable, and ready for a relaxed stay.
