The Park, Ashford Court This was once a parkland with mature oaks. Most of the trees within the field have gone, although there still is a fine line of oaks and limes along the driveway to Ashford Court. In 1965 the eastern part of the park was split by a new road to Court Farm. Until the 1970s the whole park was farmed from Court Farm, now just this easternmost fragment remains as farmland, the rest is used for horses.
Round bales, Ashford Bowdler Snow covered stubble, a less common sight now that winter crops are the fashion.
Old Plough Field. View to the Oak Beds wood and shed. Our last curlew's nest was in here. The birds convinced us it was in a neighbouring field, which was then strictly protected, and we ran over the hidden nest in here. They can be too clever for their own good.
