Welcome to The Werner House, a historic gem dating back to 1905. Once the residence of Edward Paul Werner, this magnificent building is proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Step inside and be transported to another era, where timeless beauty and craftsmanship have been preserved for over a century.
As you enter, the grand staircase and original woodwork greet you in the foyer, setting the tone for the entire home. The expansive living room boasts an original marble fireplace, soaring ceilings, and an abundance of natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Through the original pocket doors, you`ll find the elegant dining room, complete with built-in cabinetry, a large dining table, and a bar cart—ideal for hosting memorable gatherings. The kitchen is fully equipped, providing everything you need to effortlessly prepare homemade meals.
The main floor also offers two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom featuring an original clawfoot tub. The first bedroom includes a full trundle bed with a twin underneath, and a desk, perfect for those who need a quiet workspace. The second bedroom features a queen bed, another original marble fireplace, and ample closet space.
Upstairs, you`ll find two additional bedrooms and a full bathroom. The first bedroom is highlighted by a stunning king bed, a large armoire, an original marble fireplace, and a smart TV. The second bedroom offers a cozy queen bed and a charming nook, perfect for reading or enjoying a morning coffee.

Right next door, the Akron Family Restaurant offers a convenient spot to enjoy a delicious breakfast or lunch daily.
Immerse yourself in the rich history of Akron, Ohio, before it earned its title as the Rubber Capital of the World. In the late 1800s, German immigrant and entrepreneur Paul Edward Werner played a pivotal role in transforming this small publishing town into a global center for journalism and printing. His success led to the growth of his company, which expanded to 22 countries and printed prestigious works like the Encyclopedia Britannica, along with local newspapers, The Akron Tribune and Akron Germania.

Enjoy a private entrance during your stay 😊
The side door, parking lot, and hallway to the laundry area are the only shared spaces.
Guests will have access to Unit 1, the front porch, gas grill in the back, parking lot, and washer/dryer located in the basement. Please be respectful of neighbors as this is a multi unit building.

🚫ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES — ZERO EXCEPTIONS 🎉
This home is monitored by neighbors and staff who notify us instantly if a party or event takes place. If an unauthorized gathering happens, your reservation will be terminated on the spot and you’ll be required to vacate immediately without a refund (this includes no refunds on any unused nights). Any cleanup related to a party or `gathering` no matter the size will also incur additional cleaning fees and labor/material fees for any damages that were caused.
🤫 We have decibel readers that track noise levels outside (these do not record conversations). We have had noise complaints from neighbors and have a $500 fine for excessive noise levels between 10pm-8am.
🐾 A max of 2 dogs are allowed for a flat fee of $150/stay. NO CATS ALLOWED. Requests to bring a 3rd or 4th dog are subject to approval and will incur an additional $100 fee.
🚭 No indoor smoking (Minimum $500 charge for extra cleaning)
🚬 Smoking outside is permitted
🚫 NO underage consumption or drugs.
🚫You will be charged $150 for late checkout without prior notice
Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited on the property

🛁 Upstairs Bathroom: Bathtub only – the shower head is currently not functional, but the tub works perfectly.
