"The chalet was clean and comfortable and in a lovely peaceful and picturesque location. However we did have a problem with the bathroom door as lock was lose and on occasions we couldn't get out of the bathroom or in if the door was properly closed. On stripping of the beds as requested by the cleaning company notes left in the chalet, my daughter was quite upset to discover a dodgy looking yellow stain on the mattress protector under the bottom sheet and also on the pillows. 4 Evans Terrace Beautiful Cottage in the heart of Aberdovey! Free parking permit
10/10 Excellent
"Very swift help from the hosts when we needed some help with a couple of practical matters. This was greatly appreciated and made a real difference to our stay."
"The room was lovely. Our hosts couldn't do enough for us. They were very helpful, friendly and the breakfasts were the best we have ever tasted. I hope to return there for another visit."
"Our first Impression of our arrival in Aberdovey wasn't good. It is worth stating that only the suites at the hotel have reserved parking, other rooms have to use the nearby council car park, which is convenient, but costs an eye watering £15,40 a day. Not the hotel's fault of course, but I think guests should be made aware. The car park does not accept cards either, only cash and the App.
We were allocated a room on the top floor, the stairs are rather small, and difficult to manouver with luggage, and badly scuffed in places. Our room was very spacious, with a comfortable bed with quality bedding. The bathroom too was spacious with good quality towels. There was a kettle plus tea & coffee, together with a small sofa and coffee table.
It was very hot during our stay there, and there is no air conditioning of course, nor fans provided, so only the small windows to provide any airflow. However, the kitchen extractor fan(s) were located outside the bedroom window, and were going until almost midnight every day, from around 7am. This together with the heat meant poor quality sleeping every night.
The cooked breakfasts were very good, but not the "Continental" option, only apples, oranges, cereals and a few croisants were available most days plus toast, and yoghurts if they had any. No rolls, meats, vegetables or cheeses. Water for hot drinks is from an Urn, no coffee machine. The "Continental" items ran out frequently every day.
Note: the Kitchen Hygene Rating is only 3."
"Nice chalet on a nice little static caravan park. Playground for kids was nice.
Rooms were clean and bathroom was fine as well, but the shower cubicle could do with a bit more cleaning.
Kitchen was fine with plenty cups, utensils etc.
You will need to bring your own towels, toilet-paper, washing-up stuff... but that was well communicated in advance.
All in all a nice affordable place to stay for a few nights.
No BBQ... would have been nice."
Caban Dyfi – A tranquil, dog-friendly woodland escape near Aberdovey, Wales
10/10 Excellent
"A really cosy retreat from the rat race. The cabin is so comfortable with all mod cons, offering a super relaxing stay. The ambience, wildlife and all were unforgettable. Aberdovey is a charming resort, unspoilt and very welcoming. I would fully recommend the cabin and area if you're seeking solitude."
Cedar Chalet Snowdonia; Stunning Woodland/mountain View; Pool, Family & Pets
8/10 Good
"A delightful "sixties" styled chalet with beautiful views of mountains and a glimpse of the sea. Comfortable and clean. Private situation, not overlooked. Well-equipped with most things you could want. Quite a walk from the parking space to the chalet."
"We were in town for the local Machynlleth Comedy Festival over the May bank holiday weekend, and this was a wonderful base for that, being around 20 minutes away - and then a short drive to Aberdyfi too, with its lovely beach. The chalet park is very quiet; we didn't hear anyone else throughout our entire stay!
Communication from the host was great, and she was very friendly. The key is stored in a lock box at the property, so you can check in at your own convenience with space to park directly outside the front door.
The chalet had everything you needed - 2 bedrooms with comfy beds, ample storage for clothes, a good shower (with toiletries supplied) and a well-stocked kitchen. We even got some free cakes on arrival, thanks! There were also some board games and DVDs supplied if you get bored.
We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again next time we're in the area."
