"The outside of the building is a stark contrast to the inside of the building, which was a relief. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing but the food was very disappointing. It was the worst steak my husband said he has ever had. He is an ex-chef. Both of our meals were warm-cold. The male restaurant staff member was not very friendly and uniform was scruffy. Heating the plates and ensuring food arrives hot would go a long way to improving things. "

"Sarah and Steve were very welcoming and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate our change of plans. So it’s no surprise that this carried over to the rooms which were well stocked and comfortable. The amenities and service were great and I would recommend the Alpine Rose to anyone visiting Greymouth."
