"A little disappointed with our stay, the staff were lovely we went to the lakeside grill after booking a table, for a buffet it was expensive and the food was subpar and not as advertised on the video signs. As the weather wasn’t favourable we decided to leave early and didn’t even stay for breakfast. There is a lot of potential for improvement it needs reinvestment and an update it’s in a wonderful place but needs to match that with amenities."

"Amazing hotel in Hakone! Stunning property, staff were lovely! Beautiful spot right on the lake. Would definitely stay here again if we ever come

"The property was beautiful, peaceful, and very relaxing. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. We loved the food and the overall experience, definitely a 10/10 all around and one of the best parts of our trip to Japan."
"The hotel was just magical, from start to finish we loved every minute of HAKONE Setsugetsuka, especially the private Onsen. We also used the bath in our room which was fabulous. Highly recommend this hotel wish is right next to the train station so great if you don't want to walk to far."
"Tsukino no Yado Sara is a beautiful property. We selected the option to include meals and it did not disappoint. So many delicious different foods that we likely would not have experienced anywhere else.
Additionally, there are many options for the on-site onsen. You can reserve a room with a private tub, but you can also use the private onsen, which is available to anyone staying at the ryokan (property). No reservations required. There’s also the public onsen setup where it’s separated by...
"Fantastic location and the private onsen was amazing. Staying at the lake did limit dining options (great for lunches, not so great for dinners), but that has nothing to do with the hotel. Only complain is that one of the a/c unit wasn't working and it was stifling hot in this room, so my kids slept on the futons in the living room instead."
