"Grounds and building are beautiful, staff are helpful. Unfortunately the bed and pillows are horrendous. Stayed 2 nights and hardly slept both nights. I also mentioned this to the reception staff and said I would of been more comfortable sleeping on the floor and she apologised. The whole point of staying somewhere is to sleep so really all the other facilities are pretty pointless if you can’t get the main part correct. Rooms weren’t particularly clean and the bath must of been siliconed a...
"Our stay at the White Lion was fantastic! From checking in to checking out after a 4 day stay the staff could not have been more helpful. They were friendly & professional. The hotel is very well presented, clean, bright and bustling with happy customers. Our room was stylish with a beautiful toilet/shower room. Food was excellent! Highly recommend this hotel!"
"Location..it has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. ( need a car)
Rooms are very comfortable, tea /kettle etc.
Stairs are a little steep.
staff are lovely ,had a very pleasant stay.
We arrived Saturday lunch time, they had a party of 40 in, but fitted us in and it was delicious! staff attentive and it arrived quickly so all good, so I am very sad ( and surprised ) to say breakfast was poor ! we didn't opt for the buffet and cooked ,rather just the cooked, it took ages to appear...
"Our stay at the Craven Hiefer hotel The room was very tired looking ,Stains on the carpet, the sheets on the bed. Not ironed towels hard and very creased ,the crack in the wash basin ,dirty skirting boards. The lady that we saw briefly one morning was asked to replenish the tea, coffee, didn’t happen she didn’t vacuum one day she didn’t even wipe the sides unfortunately the room we had let it down badly but it was room 13 😱 Now the staff in the hotel were absolutely wonderful we couldn’t have...
"Had a great stay. Staff were wonderful. Meals in the restaurant were the best I’ve had out for a long time. I’d travel the hour just for the food. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. It would have been flawless if there was an 2nd pillow and the door from the stairs entry didn’t bang so loundly when people walked through. Both an easy fix. Would definitely recommend"
"This is a very nice place to stay and the Inn over the road is a great place to eat. The rooms and communal areas have been very tastefully decorated and it is very comfortable. Only one point, some of the rooms overlook a road which is surprisingly busy even in the middle of the night - not great if you are a light sleeper."
"The Old White Inn was in a great area and it was nice to stay in an authentic inn. On the second night of our stay, we were awoken by a person coming up the stairs pounding on all the doors on our floor and trying to gain access in the rooms with a key. The person was also slamming the furniture outside the hallway. This went on a few times and then we saw another person receiving deliveries at 3 in the morning and slamming the front door several times. The next morning this same person was...
"Our room was not very clean, hadn’t been vacuumed & sheets, towels, pillows & mattress were extremely worn out. Room didn’t receive fresh towels after request to get some. We had to go find some ourselves. Breakfast was tasty but incredibly slow. Wouldn’t stay again."
"Great news overnight stay. Staff were really helpful. Room was lovely and the bed was very comfy. Food in the pub was good too. A very enjoyable stay. Would stay again if in the area."
"I didn't realise this was on a holiday park so maybe my bad there. I was picturing country pub.
Lots of noise outside. Then an alarm went off at 3am for ages.
The restaurant food wasn't great for the money... But great breakfast and lovely pool."
"The Devonshire Arms hotel is a really lovely place to stay. The room had everything we needed including a fridge and ironing board. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Super breakfast though there was no gluten free cereal available."
