"Stayed overnight to attend a wedding, and location was wonderful. Bed was comfortable and showerroom very good. We were able to park easily as there were few cars parked, but carpark filled rapidly and cars were having to leave without parking. Our room was on the lower ground floor overlooking carpark which was gravelled, so it was very noisy and we had to draw the curtains for privacy, particularly when 2 vehicles decided to park right up against our bedroom window, not great. "The location to train station made us pick this hotel. The attentive and helpful staff were amazing, especially Gabriel. The room needed maintenance though, door to get into our room was hard to close and open. Curtains hanging down, pictures on wall without frames, tea pot and cups needed cleaning. Fan was not working but was replaced. I know the building is old but we stayed in three hotels/inns before arriving at this location and they were much more renovated and maintained."

"On arrival there was road works outside the hotel which we were unaware of. I had messaged to ask where to park but got no answer. The parking is payable across the road and behind some houses. The hotel building is very old and the bar area is quite nice. The two young lads on the bar were very nice and friendly. The room we had was in need of decoration and updating, not in good shape. We had drinking facilities provided but I’d advise take your own as the ones given were to certain tastes....

"My stay at the Washington was OK. The room that I stayed in was comfortable but could really do with some urgent TLC...especially the bathroom. The hotel's location is very good - well within walking distance to the town centre. It also has a small onsite carpark that is allocated on a first come first served basis, at a cost of £12 per night - very handy indeed. All staff were very helpful and always greeted with lovely smiles. I really hope the rooms are given a new lease of life in the not...

"Location is superb, 100 ft to Chippenham bus station, and leads than 10 minutes bistro from the train station. Room is spacious, so is the bathroom, big and renovated. Courtyard is nice.
