"Really the stay was pleasant, but there is one problem that must be taken care of, the cleanliness of the room. I stayed a week. The first day, everything was excellent. After that, the cleanliness is very bad. I spoke with the reception, but it seems that the cleaners are inexperienced."
"Room was so tiny there was nowhere to put anything except on a cheap plastic stool. The room smelled bad when was so noisy that I was woken up daily by the lads como ting in the toilet next door. Or some drilling happening in the hallway. There is access to the beach club when it is open but the rooftop deck looks like a prison with a bunch of chairs out and no umbrellas or anything else. My bathroom drain stopped working halfway through my stay and the cleaners just pulled out the plug and put...
"Unfortunately, our stay at Xemxija Bay Hotel was disappointing overall. The hotel is clearly showing its age and is in need of significant refurbishment. The rooms were very basic, and many of the fixtures and fittings were damaged or badly worn. We found ripped chairs, damaged cupboards, and furniture that looked well past its best.
The towels provided were threadbare and stained in places, although they were freshly laundered and replaced every day. The general condition of the accommodation...
"The hotel is in a great location, quiet but close to the main town. The taxi had to drop us in the nearby street, but that wasn’t a problem.
It was an easy walk to the Upper Barrakka Gardens, where the lift takes you down to the ferry stops for the 3 cities and Gozo.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was efficient and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. The area where it is served can be a bit crowded, but did not cause us any problems."
"The hotel is pretty new. Room was rather small but it was well set up with usb charging on both sides of the bed. Entry is by code only which is provided the day before check in. Breakfast was not bad. Location is not very central but good for our purposes. It’s kind of between the more touristy areas."
"Beautiful property, but impossible to sleep.
Sadly it ruined my birthday trip.
I am so disappointed with my stay at King Charles Boutique Hotel. While it is undeniably a beautiful little boutique hotel with lots of charm, the lack of basic comfort completely overshadowed its aesthetics.
The most significant issue was the absolute awful noise that goes on until 3:00 AM. The hotel website specifically claims to have soundproof rooms, which is not accurate at all. I was placed in the room...
