"My second visit to Y Pengwern. For me it's ideal for my hikes.
Very quite, a lovely local pub with friendly people and good food. Made to feel welcome. No fuss or bells or whistles. Just what I like."
"I absolutely loved this hotel. The only thing was having to walk from their car park to the hotel which wasn’t very well signed but in all fairness was I could have read about this before checking in.
Staff were amazing and so very friendly. They were happy to help and offer advice throughout the stay.
Dinner and breakfast was lovely. Cocktails great and overall a beautiful stay - if I could have stayed an extra night I would have done.
Our room was up in the rafters and was superb. A twin...
"The room [room 10, double en suite] was nothing like the pictures. First you had to lean on the door to get in cos it's too big for the frame. "Overall it was fine but I very expensive for what we actually got. The room was fine but small and the bed was not the best apart from that it was fine. I paid £140 for the night and breakfast which was continental was another £25 for the two of us. Very expensive for a room above a pub."
"Very friendly staff. Had some issues communicating with the hotel via email and Expedia messages, but were able to quickly resolve issues by phone and in person. Beautiful old hotel with modern features in the heart of Aberdovey."
"This would be a reasonable budget option if not for the mattresses. The springs were completely shot and either very old or very cheap. Everything else was decent if they could manage that simple fix"
