"Honestly, had I been travelling alone, I don’t think I would have stayed.
On arrival, the hotel appeared deserted and the main door was locked. After several minutes of banging, the only staff member on duty eventually appeared.
When I asked about the advertised free parking, he pointed to where I had stopped on the street, partly on double yellow lines. Despite my concerns about parking illegally, he insisted it was fine and simply shrugged when I challenged him. Needless to say, I moved my...
"Tha staff were very helpful and polite, the hotel is well positioned for access to A1 and local bus route to Town.
The room was perfect with plenty of room and an extra large bed.
We had dinner in the hotel there was plenty of choice and all freshly cooked, excellent."
"Breakfast was good for a buffet style hot food.
Room was ok at best. Bathroom was not great with mildew all over the bath / shower and there being clear stains on the towels.
Personally I’d not stay here again"
"Beautiful room with lots of lovely touches including the cookies and the cafeteria coffee. The choice of breakfast was really good and the coffee was great. The staff were attentive and very welcoming and gave us good suggestions of where to go and where was good to eat. A very special place we hope to go back soon.

"The bar & outside area was really good. Lovely beer garden. Staff were very friendly. We did not have breakfast but Dinner menu had a good selection of very tasty food."
"The only thing going for this place was the central location, near to historic sites and restaurants.
The faults were many.
It was advertised as a B&B, but breakfasts had ceased in June of this year.
the room was shabby and claustrophobic.
dust and grime were apparent throughout.
the shower room was cramped and mould was apparent. The shower hose and head were caked in mould.
no hot water available.
the room suffered from dampness and subsequently our clothes were damp after hanging in the...
"Super warm welcome from the host, whom we really enjoyed meeting. She was very helpful in finding restaurants, activities, etc. The room was very large and comfortable, we really felt at home."
"Disappointing from start, exterior not welcoming and garden neglected.
First time we used the shower the door fell off, reported it to the host who said it’s always doing it. Floor was wet through every time we had a shower.
Asked for poached egg on toast for breakfast and were told she would do the eggs and we had to do the toast but no times given so eggs went cold while waiting for toast.
Small pots of marmalade were not full or sealed. Second morning at breakfast, no milk on the table and...
"Room was clean, but mould/mildew in bathroom. No wifi. Bit of a trek into town but it’s a nice walk, uphill on the way back. Lady downstairs was lovely. Definitely lots of noise coming from the pub when you’re trying to sleep. Cheap accommodation, you pay for what you get."
"Lovely apartment, great location and easy parking. The flat was fully equipped with everything you could need for a short break. The Harry Potter themed rooms was a bonus"
