"The the property and gardens, of course are phenomenal. This is an older. estate property so some issues can be expected with the conditions of the finishes. Unfortunately, with us being seniors, it was very difficult for us to get our luggage to the third floor by stairs. The size of the rooms are also quite small but clean. "Was a nice and easy check in, very nice place and spacious enough, had everything we’d need.. only problem was the lack of cleanliness. Cob webs everywhere, dust and debris on the chairs and in creases of the bedroom suede walls, spiders in corners and cutlery provided has old food hardened within the cuts of the forks as it hasn’t been cleaned properly and left. Toilet also splashes water all over the seat when flushing causing the lid to be splattered with toilet water after every flush."
"There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and parking was a nightmare; other cars were in the spot that were suppose to be designated for the listing. We had to pay to park over night. Pill out bed is not very comfortable. The host had great communication when we had trouble with accessing the check in instructions. Overall, wish the dishes in the dishwasher had been dealt with correctly as we planned on eating breakfast there in the morning before leaving but had no clean cutlery!"
"I have nothing to compare it with as this is my first experience of youth hostels in 40 years. I was impressed. I loved the open area, bar and restaurant. The dormitory was excellent. Beds were well spaced, ample plug sockets, mattress & pillows excellent. Clean sheets and super mattress. The bed was as good as any 5 star hotel. Honestly. The shower was clean but a little small. The facilities in the kitchen were good but some of the pans had loose handles. The staff clearly clean but somehow...

"Overall we had a lovely time in Ambleside, the house itself was a bit grubby could do with a thorough clean, it said onsite parking on Expedia there is no parking it wasn’t a problem we parked in the village and paid £8 a day but shouldn’t be wrongly advertised, we tried to contact the property owners a couple of times about parking and the rubbish collection but still waiting for a reply, it is a lovely little house in a good location."
"Pros - good location. Short walk into town.
Room clean, modern & spacious. Self check in with good clear instruction prior to arrival.
Cons - Car park full so had to pay for parking on car park next door. No plates at breakfast only cardboard dishes which made it difficult to butter toast as the bread wouldn't fit in the dish.
Would definately stay here again though & just maybe arrive earlier to get a parking space."
