"Beautiful old building with great views. Heck of a climb to the top floor where our rooms were. No lifts and no help with bags. The mattresses were horrible - on all 3 beds. Afraid to speak with manager who checked us in - not friendly at all. Barked at my daughter when she asked for WIFI password (which was not given to us on registration). It was written on a piece of paper at his desk and she was told to read it herself. She thought it was funny how grumpy he was - but I was less than...
"The room was dark … out dated … and in need of a brighter coat of paint …. But the bed was very comfortable and the bed linen clean The staircases were very narrow and very warm as there was no fresh air …. Just basic amenities in the room … Staff were very courteous but could have been a bit more pro active in clearing the tables in the bar and the bar floor …. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was excellent! It is very much a dog lovers paradise so be advised …. Public toilets were dirty...
"Posizione incantevole, a pochi chilometri da Castle Rock e Chippenham, immerso nel verde. Camera spettacolare, curata e pulita. Ristorante con buona scelta e buona qualità, colazione di livello davvero superiore. Parcheggio disponibile. Davvero un soggiorno meraviglioso."
"A very pleasant suite for a single older person with easy access to all facilities. Perfect for a short stay. I especially liked the bedside table with inclusive sockets for device charging. A smaller kettle to get access to tap would be good though necessity is the mother of invention. Bed was comfortable and suitable for a tall person. Excellent modern shower unit."
"We were very disappointed. Lack of maintenance meant room was very poor.
Room was vvv cold, we were given an extra duvet. Windows didn't shut properly. Bedside lamp didn't work.
Shower head not fixed to wall. Room was small but we expected that."
"The room very spacious and clean but the toiletries were not checked and were low/empty. It also stated breakfast was included which was very disappointing as was only a loaf of bread with butter/jams, some cereal and fruit, the main pictures for the accommodation show a cooked breakfast and pancakes."
"Loved this hotel very well situated next to park and ride into Bath, lovely themed rooms with everything you need and very helpful staff , hope to come again !"
"We were given a full tour of the boat we had reserved with instructions on how to start the engine to make hot water, starting the furnace, etc. but the number of beds had unexpectedly changed (Cru Houseboats was under new ownership since we booked our stay) and the requirements for operating the boat did not appeal to us so we did not stay there. The staff were extremely helpful in finding a hotel late in the day that was close by. "
"Lovely house. Clean neat & tidy. Outside wood burning hot tub a real winner. Bedrooms are all a good size and en-suite. lovely lounge, large kitchen and separate dining room. Close to amenities and bars. Good take away curry just 250 yards up the road."
"We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at this beautiful countryside cottage. The property is spacious, peaceful, and the outdoor hot tub was a wonderful highlight. Please note that a car is essential since it is located deep in the countryside (about 25-30 minutes from Bath).
The management team was incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful from start to finish. In fact, after we checked out, we realized a family member had left a pair of shoes behind. The cleaning team immediately located...
"For older folks traveling from other places carrying heavy luggage, not being able to hold luggage in the room upon early arrival is a pain. Also, if not from Europe cells phones and internet don't work well so not being able to contact proprietors can be a problem. If you are able to contact them there's always an excuse as to why the response was late. A younger person would likely appreciate the flat more. Having said all that, the flat was centrally located to the action, was well stocked...
