"It required a lot of steps to access the front desk and the breakfast area. While the outside ramp was useful for the front desk, it was no help with the breakfast area. (My wife has a bad hip and needs a cane.) The location was excellent and Grassmarket Park was lovely."

"I stayed two nights in the double wee room. It is not that wee after all - surprisingly generous with the space, in fact, with a large double bed (composed of two half-mattresses). The hotel defines the center (one sees the Burns monument in front) and is quite pretty in an old-school, Britannia kind of way (with Scottish green tones as the main color). Extremely quiet (non-view room), all amenities working as intended (tea / coffee / choco maker in room; tv, old-school phone; iron & board etc.). Perhaps a wider partition in the shower would ensure less spillage. Shower with movable head (good pressure & temp controls). Breakfast is prettily presented with basic options: full English, sandwich, fruit and some interesting health-juices. Decent hours (to 10/10:30 am). Otherwise restaurant with a 20% discount coupon found in your room. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms cleaned daily, without having to ask. I will definitely return."

"The lack of air conditioning forced us to open windows, and the area around the hotel had students walking and talking after hours waking us up from sleep. The area around the hotel was very beautiful and relaxing for us."

"Honestly I really liked this place. It was like having your own little apartment while on vacation. It’s within walking distance to everything but easily accessible to public transportation. The staff were so friendly and very helpful with the 1 million questions I had. The room comes with a fridge and hot water kettle to make coffee and tea which is so convenient. I really like this place. If I ever find myself back in Scotland will stay here."
