"Overall it was a good place to stay. It’s a very simple place, which is great for Assisi. The biggest issue is the communication from the host. The host sent an email the day we were supposed to check in with crucial info to get in the property. The host didn’t tell us to look out for this email, and we didn’t have data, so we didn’t check our email when Wi-Fi was available. The host should have told us when we made the reservation to expect an email the day of check in."

It was so clean and well maintained. The breakfast was had many Assisi/Umbrian foods and sweets with Joy, the breakfast host, being so warm and accommodating. Erminia, at the front desk, gave us a wonderful historical informational tour of the hotel and we felt like we were staying in a living museum. We cannot say enough good...

"We loved the property. It was beautifully decorated. However, we had two issues. The first was a large event on our first night. The noise from event guests kept us up. We couldn’t close our windows due to the air conditioning being shut off for the season. We could either endure the noise or endure the heat. We chose the noise. The front desk did provide us with a fan at 1AM after complaining. The breakfast was wonderful. Just beware that noise could be an issue as well as no control over the comfort of the room."

"This location is just between The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi along a brick walkway between the two. “De Angeli” is a 15 minute walk flat and San Francesco is a 45 monitor walk all up hill. The hotel offers breakfast which you can book along with your reservation that is bountiful and includes eggs to order. Dinner is available with a reservation which can made the same day. We left the hotel early to drive to Roma and they had a box breakfast waiting for to take along on our drive. We stayed in a standard double bed room which was small but included a refrigerator, a bottle of water, a teapot, assorted teas, and shower gel, shampoo, and hand soap. The bed was European king with allergy pillows, but a hard mattress compared to American standards. The staff is very attentive, on duty 24/7, and accommodating. The parking lot is plentiful and free. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that will take you very near Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, and the Rocca Maggiore. If you end up at San Damiano, there is a bus that will take you back to San Francesco d’Assisi and The Eremo delle Carceri."
