The location of the hotel is fantastic with beautiful views of the hills and mountains from the restaurant. Slightly disappointed that the courtyard/garden section pictured on the advertising photo was dug up. Good breakfast included in the stay, and the staff at the reception were helpful - we managed to check in early. We had a problem with the shower in the room, it was dated and would leak water all over the floor. The air conditioning would sometimes stop working in the morning. We also selected the ‘do not disturb’ option, however we still had the housekeeping staff knock on our door from around 9:30am and ended up having our room cleaned when we left for the day (even after having asked not to). All in all, Hotel Fontebella is a beautifully decorated hotel, with lots of artwork and period features.

Wonderful location for an overnight in Assisi, within close walking distance to the Basilica of St. Francis. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are on the smaller side but quite comfortable. There's a great morning breakfast spread with egg, meats, cheese, fruit, cereal, etc. They also have small restaurant that has sandwiches, burgers and pasta. The panini were just right for a snack before heading out. Would totally stay again!

The Staff and location in the town were excellent. The restaurant is a must. The view of the valley is spectacular. The room I stayed was a singola. It over looked an area that is becoming a new garden. Should be great when finished. The view will be amazing fom that vantage point.
