Summary:
The Postman's Cottage is a luxurious and romantic abode for 2. Set on 1.5 acres with luscious garden, just a stones throw from the charming heart of Montville. We’ve catered for you to completely relax and immerse yourself in your stay. Melt into the king sized bed, bathe in our clawfoot tub, swim in the shared magnesium pool or warm up by the fire and simply enjoy the serenity. The Postman’s Cottage was designed with the intention of ‘Slow Living’. It’s so easy to get caught up in the ‘doings’ of life, but we hope here you are able to just ‘be’
The Space:
Montville Estate boasts an original Montville Queenslander, Eastnor House built in 1895. This property acted as the first Receiving Office for mail from the UK and abroad. We pay homage to the rich history of this estate and titled the adjacent cottage, The Postman's Cottage. Design was at the forefront of our concept for The Postman's Cottage, with every single element of the space created for you to appreciate and enjoy. You will notice there is no television, this has been purposefully left out to encourage connection and true relaxation with your companion, or self. Grab a book, play a game, light the fire, enjoy a walk around the grounds with a shared magnesium pool or explore the quaint tourist township of Montville and Sunshine Coast Hinterland beyond.
Your quarters are appointed with luxurious king bed and ensuite, plus bed linen and towels by Cultiver. Hair and body products by Salus. We stock a basic pantry which includes ground coffee beans, black and herbal teas, salt, pepper, sugar and olive oil. Guests find it hard to leave once they arrive, so we recommend you stop by Maleny or other major centre enroute, or swing past the petite local IGA on your way, don’t forget to pick up your milk of choice, if you take it. Amenities in our kitchen include a Bosch electric stove and compact oven with microwave, a bar fridge, kettle, and toaster. We also have a plunger coffee maker for the caffeine addicts to enjoy with our favourite local and organic brew, Montville Coffee.
Guest Access:
Guests have full and private access to the cottage and shared access to the grounds and magnesium pool. Parking for one car in the carport.
The Neighborhood:
Montville is charming hub in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and a destination for locals and tourists alike. It is vibrant during the day with speciality shops and cafes aplenty. We are surrounded by local wineries, hatted restaurants as well as casual but delicious eateries. We are also lucky to be in amongst some of Australia's most spectacular national parks, with landmarks including Kondalilla Falls, Lake Baroon and The Great Walk. The ocean is a short 30 min drive away, Noosa just 50 minutes north, with many gorgeous hinterland towns along the way.
Getting Around:
We highly recommend having a car if you are planning on exploring the surrounds. However if you're looking to relax and simply walk into town, The Postman's Cottage is perfectly located at the back of the village.
Other Things to Note:
Please note that there are two dwellings on Montville Estate, both available to be booked including Eastnor House sleeping up to 8 guests and the Cottage, 2.
Enquire with us for intimate weddings, elopements and commercial photography applications. Prior approval & additional fees apply.
Other guests may be present on the property during your stay. However your privacy is of upmost importance and you will enjoy many of your own private spaces.
Please note to stay with us you will be required to fill out a check-in form for your stay. This is a requirement of all our guests that stay with us, access to our home will only be provided after the completion of our form.
