"Thanks to the host and their lodge, we had a wonderful time! We had the chance to observe the cows, we really enjoyed it. The room had all the amenities needed, we were able to make ourselves dinner during our stay. That was a plus for us. The parking was accessible and the check in message they sent us had all the necessities to access the propriety. It is a must if you are going to visit that part of Scotland!"

"We stayed for 1 night in September 2026. The hotel was exceptionallyl well-run, with personal, friendly, and cheerful service. Be aware there is no lift.Wonderful breakfast with great variety, catering to specific dietary needs. Would definitely stay again if in the area. A real gem!"
Cosy Shepherds Hut Getaway in East Lothian

"We really enjoyed our stay in the Shepherds Hut and the views were amazing. The only disappointment was that there was no welcome pack providing instruction on how things worked. There was also no telephone contact details in case of any issues,etc. When we arrived there was not hot water and it was only by trial and error that we managed to find out that the gas bottle was empty, luckily the other bottle was full and I was aware how to manually change them over. We did send messages asking for assistance but never got any response, other than automated messages of what to do upon departure.Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and loved the Shepherds Hut and location."

"Lovely little place. Staff are really friendly and the food was phenomenal. Wi-Fi was a bit sketchy but that was the only very small issue. Plenty of parking available on the street outside and I was able to park my bus there no problem. Will definitely be back again"

"Property was tidy, simple and fairly straightforward in terms of settling in. Once we figured out the heating - no instructions - we got the place warm. An excellent wood burner really made the lounge - plus bringing in two bedside lights for ambient lighting - and was generously supplied with kindling and wood. The walks around the property and up into the woods were ideal for dog walks. The kitchen was pleasant, functional and suitably kitted out, although the fluorescent striplighting was less than homely. We did give it a very good rating, the suggestions above are just that - suggestions to make it even better! We were just two, but the house would comfortably fit four, although you might need another lounge seat. "
