George Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A great, and very well (recently) refurbished Coaching Inn, right in the heart of Frome, with a fab breakfast and helpful friendly staff as well. Having stayed in a few "brewery chain" old coaching inns recently where the "updating" seems to involve only a coat of paint and a new shelf in the bathroom, it was very welcome to find that the rooms (anbd bathrooms) at the George have been completely and professionally re-done to "you'd be very pleased if this was your own house" standard. Can't fault it at all."

The Royal Lion Hotel

"Fantastic stay! We stayed in a Comfy Plus room which had a huge, comfy bed. The room was spacious with an equally good sized bathroom containing a modern rainfall shower. The breakfast was excellent and parking was really handy too. Staff were extremely attentive and helpful. We ate in the pub in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely return! Thanks"

"Room was brilliant, cooked breakfast was amazing, continental breakfast did the job but quite basic, coffee machine was down too but overall for the price a good stay, plus there was a big event on nearby so we were lucky to get the room"

The Jubilee Hotel West- with Spa Facilities

"The property is as marketed,an old building that was not built for todays customers but is trying to appeal to one and all with most facilities directed at a younger demographic,although most guests during our stay were of the older generation who appeared to be satisfied.The access to the bedrooms is a bit quirkey in that you have to take two separate lifts,the first from reception on the lower ground floor to the ground floor and then walk along the corriador to the second lift to take you up to the first,second and third floors.The gold level room we occupied was adequate but would benifit from a king size bed.There is no internal phone system to contact reception or other rooms.Having a balcony was nice but you have to climb through the large sash window to get to it.All staff we interacted with were very helpful,taking our bags upstairs for us etc. I cannot comment on spa services or entertainment as we did not participate in any of them.Certainly the Hotel is ideally placed for access to the beach."

"The room was smaller than expected, but this was partly on us for booking late with limited choice, but it could have been better maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar and restaurant were very good with a nice outside seating area."

The Manor Hotel by Greene King Inns

"We initially walked straight past reception as it wasn't immediately obvious, the receptionist was hidden behind the very high desk and certainly wasn't the most helpful - I don't think she wanted to be there! The room was ok but the lack of light was an issue when trying to read in bed and it was very hot and stuffy (obviously not helped by this weather, but it took me a couple of days to be able to open the window.) The bathroom was lovely and clean with toiletries provided and plenty of towels. All in all it was an OK stay, but I wouldn't rush back."
