The Sandpiper is our go-to spot when overnighting in Santa Barbara. It’s reasonably priced and convenient for us when visiting family in town. Located on State Street the hotel is close to restaurants and gasoline stations. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and professional and knows us by name. We generally don’t take advantage of the breakfast but know that it’s basic in nature providing coffee, cereal and pastries.

The rooms are clean and comfortably furnished - not plastic-y or bolted down - with real furniture. Breakfast is great. The rooms all face the inner motor court and feel safer than most motels. The a/c worked great! The pool looks clean and well maintained.

Very friendly, professional staff. Easy check in and out. Very nice room. Clean and nicely decorated. Comfy bed, good strong shower. The only issue we had was the air conditioner was pretty noisy. Cooled just fine but woke me up when it turned on and off.
