"We had the most wonderful time at Casale La Gora. Francesca was super sweet and helpful! We spent 5 nights there and enjoyed every second of it. "Really useful shuttle service to and from the centre of Florence which we used every day (just make sure you book). Free water replenished frequently in the room which was very welcome as it was over 35° when we were there! Small pool but never crowded when we were there. Easy to get the bus up to Fiesole or down to Florence if shuttle times don’t suit you (it’s right by the hotel entrance). Staff great but Nellie in particular was absolutely wonderful. It was nice to be close enough to Florence to go easily, but step away from the heat and bustle and just look out over it from the hotel."

"Arriving at this villa was breathtaking. The immaculate gardens and beautiful structure gave a Tuscan villa feel while still being close enough by bus to the city centre. We booked a family room for 2 adults and 3 kids which was larger than expected and very comfortable, especially the bed. It had a big balcony where we could see the gardens and sunset which created a great memory. The only issue was that we couldn't easily keep the doors open to each room to allow the kids in and out as they automatically lock, so we had to place something in to wedge the door. The pool was slightly smaller than I pictured but still a great size for the number of guests and never felt crowded. Deck chairs were also always available. The pool temperature was perfect, as was the setting. There was also a pool bar which was very convenient and reasonably priced. The location felt very local and we had one of our favourite dinners in all of Italy nearby. It was an easy bus ride into town with a short (hot) walk. There is also a large playground nearby which was great for the kids."

"Very charming property. Staff were helpful and the room was clean. Be mindful that it is a bit far from the 'main' area of Florence so this is good to factor in when you have to make your initial check in from the airport or train station. The hotel has a shuttle multiple times a day to get you closer to the museums, shopping, etc. during your stay. Overall, would definitely recommend staying here!"

"We couldn’t say enough about our stay! The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were very clean with a great Italian flare. There is lots of history to the property that we enjoyed. We loved our wine tour, and Thomas was extremely knowledgable and friendly throughout our experience. The resort was quiet and peaceful, with only a 20minute taxi to Florence we were still able to explore the nearby city. The front desk was extremely helpful and every worker went above and beyond. Jorge working the bar was also the best! Thanks again for the great stay."

"If I could give this hotel a 10 !!! out of 5 for beauty, I would. The property is stunning, the room was lovely, the views were incredible everywhere you looked, the pool was serene, the restaurant terrace was gorgeous …everything. With such a magical setting and so much beauty everywhere you looked, it was surprising to feel a bit off. This was not just us, several of the guests were upset about the quality of service. There is no anticipation of needs by the staff, no feeling that they are there to make sure your stay is the very best it can be. The level of service did not match the beauty or price. It felt very “self serve” and we had to ask for everything. That being said, the morning restaurant manager and staff were very attentive and kind. Again, it was a confusing stay…..stunningly beautiful, relaxing and quiet, but I am just not sure we would stay there again."

"Overall the hotel is nice. It's clean and modern. Rooms are comfortable but the shower is tiny, lol. Staff are helpful and friendly, but I primarily picked this hotel due to two things. It had a pool and it offered gluten free food in the restaurant. The pool areas was nice, if small, but tricky to get sun all day as it's surrounded on all sides by the two stories of the hotel. It didn't seem to be used that much while we stayed so we were free to move the loungers around but this may not always be the case. Gluten free was where I was disappointed the most. We arrived late on the first day and the restaurant was still open, but my GF partner's only option was a bit of beef and some roast potatoes. We gave it another go a couple of days later to see if having a relaxing day just at the hotel was an option, but again the selection was very limited, so we stayed later in town than we would usually have done. Probably the biggest downfall is the hotel's location. It states it's only a few kilometers outside the centre of Florence but it takes 45 minutes each way due to the one way system and the current roadworks. The shuttle bus is free but it doesn't take you into the city centre but this was more of an issue for me as I have mobility issues. Buses are hit an miss. They say they come every 20 minutes but this is wishful thinking. We waited an hour at the stop and then three number 23 buses pulled up one behind the other. Not the hotel's fault but just a heads up."
