"We had a great experience at Saccharum. Property is very clean and well kept, the view from our ocean room was amazing. The staff was helpful and friendly, going out of their way to get us a correct power adapter as we had the incorrect one. The breakfast buffet was top tier, we looked forward to our first meal of the day. We enjoyed our drinks at the beach club, and the loungers were clean and comfortable. My wife said her spa appointment in the hotel was a highlight of our trip to Madeira."

"Great stay and right at start of PR19 trail..2300 steps down to ocean. Only challenge was parking..but it was available with a 8min walk."

"Overall, we had a great stay! The hotel was lovely and offered excellent amenities, including a pool, sauna, steam room, and an excellent breakfast buffet. I wish it was closer to Funchal as it’s 40 minutes away and quite expensive to frequently travel to. The area is quite limited with activities so having a shorter stay would’ve been a...

"The room had a spectacular view of the sea, uninterrupted and it was was very comfortable, and immaculate. The host, Jorge was very warm and welcoming too. He was extremely helpful and responsive with all the requests we asked for. Altogether, an amazing place to be in at Calheta."

"Lovely accommodations, delicious food, and super helpful staff. One thing to note, if you are through hiking - make sure to check with reception what time the latest check-in time is beforehand, as they don't have 24/hr reception."
