Without a doubt Calhetas best place to stay and eat. Small boutique hotel with high quality food, service, rooms/ houses and a cliff top location second to none. Staff provide attentive but not obtrusive service. Really lovely place to stay. Imagine sitting amidst the vines, fruit veg and flower garden by the lavender edged pool watching the sunset with wine from their own vines before sampling their Michelin type taster menu. Yep that’s Socalco.

Honnêtement, c'était top. Je ne pense pas être leur clientèle habituelle, mais la vue sur la mer depuis la chambre (grande fenêtre avec renfoncement pour lézarder ou lire), avec les vignes juste devant... La classe. Et le petit déj est un brunch de qualité (c'est aussi un moyen d'accrocher pour le dîner, mais c'est de bonne guerre)
Il y en a une deuxième dans le même style dans la kitchenette...
Pas mal de randos à faire dans la région mais quand la météo est compliquée, c'est cool de rester sur place.

Socalco is a truly gorgeous accommodation for a unique stay in Calheta. The entire property is beautiful, lined with gardens growing grapes, herbs, and vegetables under the scenery of a Madeiran coastal hill. Every corner of Socalco is tastefully decorated and the rooms have a clean and modern aesthetic that exudes comfort. The rooms boast views over the coast and breakfast is a true highlight, enjoyed on the terrace with a view over Calheta beach. Breakfast is also thoughtfully curated, with meats, cheeses, fruits, tea, coffee, and a cooked egg breakfast, all of exceptional quality. We were so pleased to stay here and we will absolutely return if we are back in Madeira. Treat yourself to even a few nights here, it's absolutely worth it!

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, I loved the breakfast and the two evening meals we had were top quality. You can also order drinks and snacks during the day if you are relaxing at the property. The room was perfect (cascata, room 10) very private with lovely views and everything you need. It was worrying driving up the road the first time as it is very steep and with a sheer drop off the edge of the car park and road but to be honest after one day driving in Madeira you are used to it!

Everything was top notch. The property is fantastic, our room was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was wonderful. We stayed for dinner one evening and service and food was fantastic. Don’t hesitate to stay here. Our only challenge was navigating parking on a very steep hill - but this is true of many places on Madeira.

Das Hotel und das Zimmer ist sehr schön. Man hat einen super Blick auf das Meer, da man hoch am Hügel ist. Das rauffahren zum Hotel und parken ist ein bisschen challenging, was aber auf die gesamte Insel zutrifft ;) Das Frühstück war jeden Tag super lecker und wurde serviert. Das Personal ist sehr Kundenorientiert und immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich kann das Hotel für jeden weiterempfehlen, der entspannen möchte und etwas fernab vom Trubel seinen Urlaub genießen möchte

Nous avons été agréablement surpris par le style atypique de cet établissement. Tout a été conçu pour se fondre dans le décor naturel, du potager au jardin d'herbes aromatiques en passant par le vignoble. Le petit-déjeuner ou le dîner se prennent devant un panorama époustouflant. Tout le personnel a été accueillant. Une expérience inoubliable !

Amazing! Loved the location, view and room. Breakfast and service amazing. Dinner was good too. Went for cocktails one night, maybe near closing and wasn’t the same level as previous experienced but mostly amazing.

The most wonderful stay

We had the most incredible stay. The views were fantastic from the hotel/room. The breakfast included was amazing, you need to have dinner at the restaurant. The staff at this hotel were incredible and made the stay even more special. We look forward to staying here again when we next visit Madeira.

Cet endroit est un petit paradis !!! Isolé au sommet de la ville de Calheta avec la vue sur la plage. L’idée du repas surprise à tous les soirs est particulier mais intéressant et intriguant !!! Très bonne cuisine !!! Tout est parfait !!!

Die Unterkunft und das Gelände sind super schön! Man kann an vielen Ecken neue Dinge entdecken. Zwischen den Weinreben befinden sich kleine angelegte Gärten und überall fließt Wasser. Das Personal ist super nett und immer hilfsbereit. Die Parkplätze sind, Madeira typisch, eng, aber wir konnten immer einen finden. Das Frühstück und Abendessen war sehr lecker und es blieben keine Wünsche offen. Das Apartment ist stilvoll, minimalistisch eingerichtet mit einer wunderschönen Regenwalddusche und einer (ziemlich) kleinen Kochecke. In den Apartment waren ein paar Haken und weitere Verstaumöglichkeiten schön gewesen. Auch der Tisch zum Essen war sehr knapp bemessen. Beim Kochkit haben wir ein Schneidebrett und ein Tuch zum Abtrocknen vermisst.

Not enough superlatives to describe this hotel

We stayed in the cascades room. Absolutely beautiful . Breakfast on terrace with gorgeous fresh and delicious food. Everything here here is quality- food, service, craftsman furnishings and fittings, fabulous tended grounds. Loved our little Levada walk around the room to the river source. Everything so secluded. Views are incredible.
