"Stayed with my partner, and the entire area of Shimoda is so charming. If you want to experience a taste of the natural flora and fauna of Japan, this place is it. The staff were accommodating, helpful and kind, and the restaurant was excellent for a taste of the local cuisine. Great gems to be found nearby. My only recommendation is to rent a car for this area, as there’s so much to see but not all in walkable distances."

"Beautiful location, ocean front. We got the room with outdoor onsen ocean facing. The room was well maintained. The packaged meals (breakfast and dinner) were well prepared! Both my wife and I loved it! Would definitely come back!"

"We expected more…. The place is run down with a strange old smell. Our room was just ok, but the view made up for it. The coin laundry did not work at all and it ate up all our coins. The food was the worst we experience in Japan, which is a terrible thing to say since we have never experienced bad food in Japan. We are very sorry to have to write this review, but we need to be honest since it was not a cheap reservation."
