"Outdoor pool is being renovated slowly…. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s in the city center, not very touristy, they are not on the beach but provide you with a public beach access that you can walk to. The breakfast food is either local (ackee and salt fish with cooked provisions, etc) or you can order a very basic American breakfast (eggs, toast,bacon etc), They have parking. There are nightlife options close by. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area. It’s safe to move around the city as a tourist."

"A budget hotel that has nice views of the ocean. If you looking for somewhere that has a view then this is perfect. The property could be updated. I believe if they just change the tiling and apply some paint with minor art work and murals that place would be perfect. For now tho if you are on a budget then this is the place."

"I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. If you’re planning a short trip and want somewhere comfortable to stay, I highly recommend the Sand and Tan beach Hotel. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the parties on the weekend are so much fun. If you’re a young couple or anyone looking to immerse yourself in Jamaican culture with great food and great service, then this is the perfect place for you. It is perfectly situated in Ocho Rios where you can access the great excursions nearby and the staff are all friendly and willing to assist you with anything you need. I will definitely be looking to return in the future."

"The room was cleaned upon arrival. However wifi only worked for a few minutes one day and never worked again. There was no housekeeping service and qas told if I wanted housekeeping that is an additional cost."

"We just spent 7 nights at Royal Plantation. What a beautiful and special place. The grounds are immaculately kept and there is a great sense of pride from all staff in making the resort feel more like a home away from home. Every single staff member we interacted with were so friendly and took time out of their day to stop and have a chat. We loved meeting all of them. We always felt so well taken care of. There was nothing that was ever too much trouble. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our butlers Anthony and Robert made us feel so special and we loved all the little surprises they arranged. The general manager Omar is a huge credit to Sandals and does an incredible job making you aware of his presence and checking in on us to ask if there was anything we needed. The food and drinks are 10/10 we did not have a bad meal and there were many stand out dishes. We hope to be back and see everyone again very soon. Thank you"
