Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Nice to have free tea and coffee at the reception also a kitchen guests can use, been a long time since had to use shared toilets and shower but overall a lick of paint in the rooms would help great location for getting to the great northern run
One of the best hotels in Newcastle city very clean and nice atmosphere, rooms are quite and clean, good amenities and excellent staff.
Best in the price
Exactly as advertised, perfectly nice room and just 10 minutes from the metro station at Kingston Park. Plenty of food and shopping options nearby too.
Love staying here, staff are really friendly and accommodating. Rooms are incredibly comfy. Decent amenities including kitchen to make coffees etc
Toby carvery/pub and B&M next door too and only small walk to Metro.
Ive stayed at the Metro a few times now and the staff are all friendly and accommodating. I will continue to stay at the Metro every time i go to Newcastle.

You get what you pay for with the cheaper rooms,
the mattress was not suitable for purpose,
the towels and bedding were clean,
staff pleasant,
electrics are borderline dangerous,
Communal kitchen has a kettle and some appliances that are not fit for use,
Heavily aged hotel, it’s an easy income for the owner as little money is spent,
Very friendly lady at the counter. We travelled to Newcastle recently for the Great North Run. The lady (I am so sorry for not remembering her name) had plenty of suggestions about how to get to the venue. She even let us keep the car parked after our check out. The location is very good as well. Buses and Metro available within a short walking distance. Great value for money!
Staff try their best. Rooms are dated and worn out. Bed was quite uncomfortable. Check out was early 10 am. Carpark is great, links to Newcastle via metro and bus is good. Formula one hotel was it's old name ( french I think) basic but dated.
