"Staff.. the maintenance man was friendly and helpful. The managers barely spoke English. We were there 3 nights and had to have our room key card recoded 3 - 4 times. There was a towel left in the room by previous occupant. Only 1 hand towel in the room. It was quiet and the bed wasn’t bad.Breakfast wasn’t much to be desired. Example. Some packaged breakfast bars expired 3 years ago. Slim pickings. Advertised breakfast included. I recommend going to the diner across the street."

"When I booked the Halfling House, I knew it would be terrific, but it was so much more! It was truly magical. My husband and I stayed for four nights, and we loved every minute. Everywhere you turn there is more to see. The home is so cozy and so comfy. We loved the well-stocked kitchen, which was very easy to cook in. I made large meals two nights with no problems. There is a wide selection of cooking and baking tools. The open shelving makes everything very easy to find. I watched "Fellowship of the Ring" on my tablet while cooking, which was pretty meta! There are two tables in the kitchen, and one of them extends to seat 10, although there are not ten chairs. Pro tip: You can move the bench in the tub bathroom and the bench in the living room into the kitchen to make ten seats. The bathrooms are both quite large. There is more than enough storage area for personal items. The living room is cozy, with a couch, two comfy chairs, and a bench. There are led candles EVERYWHERE, which is so fun! The ones in the kitchen have a remote on the shelf to make it so you don't have to reach up to the tippy top of the shelf to turn on the candle. These candles add so much ambience to every room. There are so many outlets and so many light configurations! It's amazing. Two things to note: It gets bright early in the morning, so bring an eye mask if you don't want to wake with the sun. There are not doors on the sleeping rooms, just curtains, so prepare to mitigate sound."

"The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were impressed. It is a little Out of town so you cannot walk to shops or restaurants but it is only a 5 minute drive to restaurants and shops in Nauvoo."

"This was my halfway-ish stop on a trip from St. Louis, MO to Mayo. I needed a comfortable room for one night that wouldn’t break my budget, and this hotel delivered. The room was clean and comfortable, and the free hot breakfast was great! Staff were all pleasant, helpful, and busy—everywhere I looked, folks were cleaning up and making sure everything was in tip top shape. Water pressure was good, towels were plush, and there was plenty of hot water. Location can’t be beat; the hotel is right next to an affordable little market for any essentials you might’ve forgotten to pack, and there’s plenty of green space around the property if your kid (or you) just needs to burn off some car-trip energy."

"This was a very old hotel. The flooring in the room had many gaps and was peeling from the bottom. The bathroom sink was very small, and did not have a stopper. The small refrigerator was quite noisy. Otherwise, the room was clean. I would only recommend this for the budget traveler."
