Hygie Hotel was perfect for us, a couple attending Pouzza Fest who just needed a place nearby to sleep.
As it is below ground, there was some drain back-up after a heavy rainfall but this didn't bother us (just good to know). The bedding smelled fresh but there were a few hairs. Overall the impression was a hotel that was trying to be artistic & stylish, but missing out on some details.
We had considered the pod hostel beds (which are in the same space) and were hoping to have access to the hostel kitchen, but the "kitchen" we were directed to was really a locker space with only a small fridge & microwave, not even a sink for washing dishes.
The staff were present when you needed them but not overly friendly or proactive (we had to ask for anything we needed, like the WiFi password and if we'd wanted a 2nd bath towel).
The Old Pier area is nearby with plenty of restaurants, shops & activities. And Muru crepe cafe across the road is delicious and very cute, with cheerful service.
We would stay here again under similar circumstances. But if I was spending more time in my hotel, I would choose a different place to stay.
