"We stayed in a standard room in the main building and it was so lovely! The breakfast was awesome and the walk down to the village was convenient. This hotel has a lovely restaurant attached with great food. Zaros Lake is just around the corner. My favorite part was the spring water running down the side of the road. A very lovely village to visit on your trip around Crete."

"Close to the beach & the airport Karteros Hotel is in a great location. It is also 20 mins by bus from the port. WiFi is good, the room is large with lots of plug ports & a good sized bathroom. Breakfast had a wide selection of fruit, salad, hot items, pastries, fruit juice, hot drinks & more. The pool is large but not heated so can be chilly. A lovely one night stay. "

"First of all, we stayed in early May when it was quiet. The (standard) room we stayed in was very good - spacious, clean, tasteful decor, good bed, dark and quiet. The breakfast was very good and the bar overlooking the beach also good. Otherwise there are a few things to note: The bathroom is small, compared with the room itself. The beach is overrun with sun beds, making it feel claustrophobic. There is a space at each end if you want to lay in the sand. The water is very clear and clean....

"The resort is beautiful, the staff are very excellent and the food is great. Drinks wise there is a lot of choice however it’s lacking / chargeable for some things I’d expect from a 5 star (baileys / choice of vodka / whisky etc) and one à la carte in 3 days with no drinks included needs considering. The pool area is lovely, bedside service rather than lining up at the bar would be better (I’ve never known this in a 5 star before) The gym and yoga shala are exceptional, this alone makes it...

"It was ok, we have stayed at the other two hotels, Stella Island and Stella Palace, and to be honest this is not on par with them. The food was very limited, not much choice and if you’re a fussy eater you might struggle. All the flowerbeds were overgrown and if you had a sunbed next to one there was a strong smell of cat urine. The drinks weren’t great, the soda had that off taste or dirty pipes and isnt branded. There were also cockroaches in our room that came from the toilet floor drain....

"Room: Sadly we got a room in bad condition. Lot of holes in the walls, poor paint job, broken loud fridge, shower drain was clogged. We didn't use jacuzzi much, as it faced the busy street - privacy panel covered you only when sitting. It was embarrassing to parade in my bathsuit visible to random people. Also there were soccer matches right next to our room so it was loud. No kids! Restaurant was quiet. Few parking places available for guests. Location: Ca. 15 min from Heraklion, by car....

"This is a very nice, new and modern hotel. The breakfast every morning is very good and contains a lot of options and variety of food. We arrived early in the morning on our check-in day, and the staff was incredibly friendly and got our room together as soon as possible for check-in a bit before the standard time.
