Mike is a lovely host and the rooms are spacious and our bed was super comfortable. Our room looked over the Miramichi river which is very scenic. Peaceful and quiet small hamlet.
This is an exceptional property. Take the time to really explore it. We were lucky to get the Governor's room - where apparently the Queen spent a night in 1994. We plan to return and treat ourselves to the 4 o'clock tea. Thanks for such an incredible experience. Dan and Estelle
The property is beautiful, the furnishings unique and the bed was comfortable, and we looked forward to enjoying a stately home environment. Unfortunately the Inn was under renovations and we couldn’t stay for the full period of our reservation due to the dust. Would recommend it for a special stay but only once renos are completed. Very friendly staff.
Apparently we stayed in the same room as Queen Elizabeth did on her trip to Miramichi in 1959! However it was very musty when we initially got there so we opened all the windows and turned on a fan and went out for a couple of hours. When we got back it was fine and the rest of our stay was pleasant.

Its absurd this place has anything but a one (1) review. Incredibly outdated room (a vhs tube tv???) the shower is literally something out of a halfway house. Blatantly obvious no one from expedia or tge like has ever set foot in the "mansion" The owners have a 5 year old "please be patient during renovations" when obviously there hasnt been a reno in 30 years. The owners should also thank their lucky stars they have the staff that they do. And at a b&b breakfast is not coffee toast and a few tubes of cereal. Shocking. Completely shocking
Mike is a warm and very helpful host. The hotel offers dining - breakfast and dinner - by reservation only and I would definitely recommend breakfast (unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to have dinner). Our room was spacious and very nicely appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel is full of history, antiques and amazing model ships - give yourself some time to soak it all in.
My wife and I had a pleasant stay. The mansion overlooks the river, and there are some nice sitting areas to read quietly. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There's not much in the immediate area; you need to go across the river onto the Newcastle side for stores, restaurants, nightlife, etc. But if you're in the area and want to avoid the bland low-budget chain hotels, this is a nice option.

Manoir historique
Ancien manoir du lieutenant gouverneur. Des travaux de restauration se font actuellement. La finition du coin salle de bain de la chambre laisse à désirer. Bel édifice.
Very desapointing, it is old, it is very expensive for the quality of the place , for half of the price paid it would have been honest, but not at 157$

Step back in time.
Staying at the Governor's Mansion is like stepping back into history. It dates back to the 1860's, with many of the furnishings from that era. A stay here should include a visit to the near-by Interpretation Centre which presents the history of the area. The house features in this presentation. We thoroughly enjoyed checking out the antique furniture and furnishings.
The room was comfortable but security was an issue as there was an indoor balcony running along outside our room. The windows connected could not be locked. The bathroom sink needs a light. The rate for the room was attractive but the continental breakfast was over-priced at $8.00 per person.
We enjoyed our stay.
we booked this hotel and it was everything we asked for, but for 260$ the breakfast should be included. Also the room was really nice but the WiFi was not accessible. We had a great time and the house was just amazing.
