"room was dirty. the fridge did not work, lighting was dark, and there was no conditioner. the front desk clerk at check in was rude. the only window faces the indoor pool and other rooms so they were kept shut for privacy. the only positive is that it was quiet. the pictures on the site are deceiving. "

"The location of Varscona Hotel is its absolute strongest asset. Being so central made exploring the area incredibly convenient; it really is the "key" to an stress-free trip. Beyond the location, I was very impressed with the rooms. They have been newly renovated and feel incredibly fresh and modern. I am highly recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, updated stay in Edmonton AB. I would definitely stay here again!"

"We were in Edmonton for a week as a group of 5. My husband and I were traveling for work and my family joined us to help and have a little get away. The house was more than big enough for all 5 of us, it was very clean and the kitchen was wonderful. Street parking can be a little hard to find on the street out front depending on when you’re parking so the garage was really nice to have and gave me enough room to store my work between shows. We had a little surprise come up while we were there which was completely out of the host’s control but required us to contact the host. The host was easy to get ahold of, had the situation sorted within minutes and went above and beyond what I would have expected. I would stay at this location again and would have zero issues recommending any of the properties that this host manages."

"The rooms are very basic, clean, comfortable bed, very affordable with restrooms and showers down the hall. If you simply require a place to sleep in the Whyte Ave. neighbourhood, the Commercial is a good option. The historic pub downstairs is a bonus. Lots of dining spots within a couple of blocks, plus the nearby Farmers Market, bookshops, and many great local businesses. "
