  • Hidden Valley Lodge is a big, beautiful Lodge (over 4000 sq. ft) built on private natural-wooded land.

    It sleeps up to 24 guests.

    (Base Price is for up to 15 guests.

    Additional Guests are $10/night, per person, for the duration of the reserved dates).

    No TV access, but there is a Roku connected to the TV in the Great Room, so if you have a Youtube TV account (or something like that), it should work.

    It is conveniently located around 6 miles from Old Man's Cave, the headquarters of the beautiful Hocking Hills State Park!

    It is also near Logan, OH, which has restaurants, shopping, canoeing, golfing and more.

    It has an outdoor Playset for the kids, a 6-Person Hot Tub, lots of area on the deck for outdoor dining and relaxing, and a fire pit, with chairs..

    There is also a Pool Table in the lower level, to enjoy with your family and friends.

Everything was great and the weather was perfect to climb those hills we celebrated Valentine’s Day with 8 couples. and we had enough space to move around and not be in someone’s space.

We enjoyed an extended family vacation with 15 of us and truly enjoyed this lodge! It was clean, quiet and in a beautiful setting. The kitchen was also well equipped for cooking meals in. It was conveniently located to enjoy hikes and downtown Logan attractions. My only complaints were the road leading to the property and finding it from Apple Maps. They desperately need to update the road as rain has washed away a lot of the gravel and the small sign leading to the property is a bit misleading. If you are at the top of the hill looking down the driveway, all you see is a dumpster. The road makes a sharp left turn down a steep hill which you can’t see unless you walk down to the dumpster. You will definitely need 4 wheel drive or at the very least, front wheel drive vehicles getting to and from the property.

We had several couples stay at the house for a birthday weekend. We had a blast and the accommodations were great!

Beautiful area, not far from Logan. It's definitely an older cabin and had no throw pillows, blankets or rugs in the living room as shown in the picture. Even so, we still enjoyed our stay.

This is my Christmas present to my older children and their families each year. We had a great time hiking at old man’s cave and coming back and grilling steaks. The cabin was clean with lots of room for all of us.

The rental was very easy to check in and out of, and the requests from the property were very reasonable. Most of the needed items are provided for you. It is very serene and quiet. Our kids enjoyed playing on the swing set and the bonfire pit is large enough to accommodate a big group.We did have a very difficult time getting up and down the driveway. It is steep hills and turns, with loose gravel, which made it difficult for the cars to maintain traction. We found it easier to park at the end of the driveway and walk all the way to the property (kind of a hike!). We also noticed that the water smelled strongly of sulfur (it is well water). We would recommend future travelers who are not used to well water to bring bottled water for drinking and cooking.

Hills Retreat

It was spacious and accommodated our family just fine. The drive to the property is a challenge, steep descent and incline on gravel.

50th Birthday celebration

Loved the property! Had plenty of room for our group with more beds that we didn't even use. The property was clean and well equipped. Beautiful setting. Easy to check in. We didn't have any issues or maintenance problems. Would definitely book this again! Thank you for the stay!

Hidden Valley

Great location, very large and roomy. Not as clean as I would have liked. Some dishes in cupboards were dirty and the outside grounds had a lot of trash. Overall a pleasant experience.

Drive way

The drive way was horrible. Is extremely steep and riddled with deep ruts. One needs a four wheel drive vehicle to ascend the last hill to the cabin. Luckily are party had several four wheel drive vehicle. The two wheel drive vehicle had to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up the hill.

Exceeded Expectations

Looking at the pics, I was blown away. Reading the reviews, there were some mixed ones that gave me pause. We had a large group of 2 families travelling almost 4 hours away and this place was everything and more to us. The location was great because it was 10-15 minutes from everything we planned on doing. The pics were spot on and it's even better in person. The owner/manager was very prompt in responses and was great with communication. The biggest issue that worried us was the entry into the place. It is very hilly and is dirt and rocks. We were booked on dry days and had no issues with 2WD or 4WD SUV's getting up and down. Overall, an amazing place that exceeded our expectations and it's definitely on the radar for making this a yearly trip.

House has pluses not need some improvement

The house layout for a large group was perfect. We also loved the fact there was a folding table and chairs available for games. Also, The fire pit was wonderful. However, cleaning was an issue. We are a shoes off in the house family but the soles of our feet were black from the floors, the coffee pot had not been washed and there are dozens of dead flies on the upper front window ledge and the spa was slimy, to name a few. We had to tretvthe spa before we could use it. We ended up pre washing everything we used. Also, one of the pillow shams was missing from a bed and we could not get either TV to work. Bottom line, the owner has a great house but he is not getting good service on maintenance and cleaning.

Extybad experience

It’s extremely hard to communicate with the manager. He won’t answer questions promptly and when you try to call they won’t even answer. That was my experience, I don’t know how many people experienced this. And there was a power outage from 1pm until 5 am during our stay and when I asked the manger about this of course no answer from them. Please keep in mind that if there’s no power that means no water no, no a/c / hear, nothing to warm up your food because stove and microwave is electric. It was a bad experience for us, so please please be careful when you choose this location.

A few cleaning issues

We enjoyed our stay but it started out a little rough! When we arrived we noticed a huge amount of bat droppings up in the loft between the 2 beds. It was all over the floor, nightstand, and even on the bedding. Next we smelled a fishy smell in the kitchen, when we opened the dishwasher, it was enough to make us gag. The dishwasher had a pod in it but had not been ran. So we quickly ran it. That made the whole house smell fishy:) When the maintenance man arrived to clean up the bat mess, we told him about dishwasher, which was now leaking all over the floor! He did a great job and we thanked him. He said the dishwasher was clogged so he cleaned it out and ran it again. It still smelled in the morning so we ended up just washing the dishes by hand all week:) He had to come back the following day to fix the bat issue. We were also short some sheets on 3 of the beds: 2 were missing a top sheet and one was missing a bottom sheet. Again, when we text them to get more sheets, they were very prompt in getting them to us.

Sufficient, not outstanding

The best part of our stay was the time spent with our family, as it should be. The house was spacious, both with bedrooms and common areas. The bathroom to bedroom ratio was key to family bliss. The wrap around deck and wood cabin style construction made the house fit the woodsy vacation vibe. The house location was centrally located to visit local sites of interest, although all such activities require driving. There are no trails at the house. Unfortunately, the house showed a lack of love and care that could have made it a standout destination. As other reviews noted, the main refrigerator (the one located in the kitchen) is tired and in need of TLC - it leaks when first loaded up, many shelves and drawers are missing, the ice maker and water dispenser don't work. The back yard smells of sewage from the septic field which detracts from the enjoyability of the property. The cleanliness of the property was questionable, requiring us to clean all kitchen surfaces and wash all dishes, cups, and utensils before use. As mentioned in the prior reviews, the pool table needs to have the felt cleaned or replaced and the trim pieces reattached. Water pressure at the property is low and several bathroom drains are slow - needing to be cleared. Internet service is passable (7M download, 700K upload). The addition of higher speed internet (Starlink or satellite) and equipping the 2 TVs with smart sticks (Roku, FireTV, or Chromecast) would be a good investment. Luckily we had great weather so indoor entertainment needs were minimal. Also strangely the kitchen included a tip envelope to go the cleaning team, when the rental costs include a cleaning fee and the cleaning team is employed by the house hosts. Seems like the host should care for the cleaning team's tip. If we return to this area, I would likely look at alternative properties rather than return to this one as a first choice.

Get Away

Great place for a family get together. Lots of area for privacy, yet plenty of space for togetherness! Everyone (even the 5 tough aged teens) enjoyed our time there
