"Overall, great. Restaurant was not as good as other experiences but staff was great. Amazing location. Would caution staying on the top floor near the alley. Room so hot closing the window was not an option and the alley is used by those traveling to and from some of the pubs, so you can imagine the noise. Not the fault of the hotel but shows the reason it is one of their less expensive rooms. GREAT LOCATION!"

"This is a lovely hotel that has been converted from opd miner's cottages into modern rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean although a little on the small side if you have a lot of luggage. It is conveniently located just a short walk from the town and the bus stop outside is handy for the sherpa bus. Unfortunately the lake view is now almost obscured by trees across the road. Amy was very welcoming and helpful throughout the stay and is always available. I would definitely recommend this...

"The Slate is a hotel full of charm and warmth, clearly run with love and care. We enjoyed a comfortable and relaxed stay. The restaurant serves delicious food and we were in a great location to enjoy north Wales, with lots to do nearby. Thoroughly recommend! "
