The Whitlock is in a great location. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend staying here. Just steps away from town.

We made the mistake of staying here when traveling, because there was a snowstorm and the driving became unsafe. It is a little mom and pop sort of place, and there was no front desk staff, no morning coffee, no one to shovel the walk ways...no food. I guess we should have stayed at the Holiday Inn. Whoops. On the other hand, the room was quaint in that old New England style, and clean and the place was quiet!

Location is great for visiting the Lenox shops and restaurants. The shower and bed were nice and comfortable. It’s an old hotel so I’m sure it’s hard to keep it up but wear and tear was evident in the room and common areas. Weekend continental breakfast was very good.

I was in town to attend an inspection on a house we made an offer on in nearby Becket. The Whitlock was perfect for me. It was conveniently located, in town, close to dining, and with easy parking. The inn was historic, charming, and had lots of character. It was exactly what I was looking for. There is now staff available on premises from 7 am to 10 pm. I was able to check in on site. The outer doors were locked at night. I would definitely come back.

Weekend in the heart of the Berkshires

Excellent location in the heart of Lenox. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Quick drive to Tanglewood. Room was comfortable and quiet. Decor slightly tired. Overall a good option for a weekend stay.

The property was beautiful, and the staff was wonderful and friendly. You are in the heart on Lenox with walking ability to shops and restaurants. Less then two miles to Tanglewood which was why we we’re traveling. It was perfect.

Overall, the place could use some sprucing up. I had read a review that mentioned a few things to improve on and ironically all these seemed to have been corrected. At least in our room. Maybe the Inn improved on these having seen that particular review. There was nowhere to hang any clothes or jackets. A couple of hooks on the wall with some hangers would have helped. We were there during the week so the place was quiet but that also meant that the fire pit, the restaurant/lounge, the bar… weren’t “on”. It was starting to get cold so we would have appreciated having the heat on at all times. We didn’t have access to the controls and the heat was being turned off at times. When I asked for shower gel, the lady at the front desk seemed perplexed as she wondered why I wasn’t simply using shampoo or hand soap. They did manage to find me some sample size products. Overall it was an ok stay but the quality does not match the rates. Lenox is cozy and central in the Berkshires. I hesitated between staying in Pittsfield, Great Barrington or Stockbridge. Lenox was the best choice.

Bedroom was comfortable. The shower was hazardous - slippery floor, nothing to hold on to, nowhere to put things. There was nothing about what to do in case of fire - I thought that was required. Our room was down a long, narrow hall and the stairs down were wooden.
