Great garden overlooking the water- ideally placed for walks or trail runs - dog friendly- easy access by car to beaches and town - we will book again for a third year!
Wonderfully situated on the Creek for paddleboarding, sailing etc and playing in the mud at low tide :-))
Everything is so close, Kingsbridge town, Beesands, Torcross & Slapton Sands Beaches (all shingle but absolutely stunning) 10 mins drive away and drive, beautiful area to explore
Croak cottage is a home away from home. Beautifully presented and every detail thought about. The garden is fantastic for a family, with access to the esturary we were able to paddleboard every day, and drying everything out was so easy afterwards. The views are stunning too.
Lovely cottage, very comfortable and homely.
The road is narrow, quite busy and there are no pavements, so walking along the road can be a bit hazardous. The walk along the edge of the estuary is pretty muddy and requires boots or wellies.
Spent a week at Frogmore and had the best time. Spacious enough for the time we spent there and inside. Comfortable beds and everything was as described.
We loved this cottage and especially enjoyed paddle boarding from the back gate when the tide was in. Everything was provided for us and our dogs.

A wonderful stay at Croak Cottage. The pictures don’t do the cottage justice, it’s much better than we expected. It has a lovely way of making you feel at home instantly and the garden is just fabulous.
We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful home, even nicer decor and more spacious than the photos show. A truly picturesque location and we loved the secret garden and the creek. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you Joanna for a relaxing and memorable stay.
Lovely property, really clean with a lovely garden perfect for everyone including the dogs
The property was really well equipped and beautiful presented. The garden gets the sun all day and leads straight down to the creek. The property is ideally located for visiting Salcombe, Dartmouth, Torcross, Beesands and more.
Clean and comfortable. Had all the mod cons need for our stay. Parking was easier than expected. We and the dog really enjoyed the fully enclosed and safe garden. Views from the summer house were stunning.
The cottage was charming .cosy very well appointed and very tastefully decorated , ideal for us with our old dog who settled in well . Joanna was very friendly and helpful made us feel very much at home .
Would recommend to friends .
Good position .
Our family of 4 (+ two dogs) really enjoyed our stay at Croak Cottage. Whilst not right on the coast it gives very easy access to beaches on both sides of the South Devon coast. We enjoyed Thurleston and Torcross beaches, which are both dog friendly all year round. Also Kingsbridge and Salcombe are both only a short drive away. The cottage we very clean and well maintained, recently refurbished to a high standard (it is more specious and bright than the website photos imply).

We had a lovely weekend at Croak Cottage in June 2022. The property is dog friendly, beautifully decorated, clean and tidy, well equipped, with wonderful views across the estuary (lovely summer house to sit in when the weather was a little drizzly). There is a parking space outside which we just about managed to get a T5 Camper on! There's a pub just down the road "The Globe" which serves great food and has a cosy atmosphere (also dog friendly in the bar area). Would definitely return for another visit, thank you :-)
Croake Cottage has a garden that runs down to the creek in Frogmore, the high reaches of the Salcombe Estuary. Sitting on the lawn or in the summerhouse watching the changing water levels and wildlife the tide brings is a highlight if staying here. This cottage was very clean and well appointed. The king size bed was extremely comfortable with good quality linen. The kitchen had plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen utensils. This little cottage is ideal for one or two couples or a small family. and a good base for visiting South Hams The Globe Inn pub is a few yards away and we found it welcoming with good food.
Croak cottage is a lovely place to stay. We stayed 29th Dec to 2nd Jan with our 10 year old daughter & 11 year old dog.
The cottage was perfect for us, had everything we could want, it was so warm and comfortable. The outside space was brilliant, the creek and the views were amazing. Unfortunately we did not get much use of the summer house due to the weather!
We went to Kingsbridge which was a lovely little town, also went to Slapton Sands for a wet & windy beach walk! On NYD we went to Hope Cove, this is a beautiful place, very scenic, we got boozy coffee's and hot chocolate from the little beach hut & laughed at the crazy people swimming in bikini's!
We only wish we had stayed longer as we didn't get to experience the village pub, we would love to return in the summer months & bring the paddle board.
The welcome pack was a lovely touch, the most perfect new year, thank you.
Nice cottage but rather unkempt and not cleaned to a great standard. Flooring downstairs very grimy and did have unpleasant smell. Three out of four guests had sniffles whenever indoors all week. Garden pleasant although unkempt, frontage unswept and front door dirty. Good facilities and plenty of crockery. Super access to pub with friendly team and nice food. Host is going to charge us for whole new hob top which was cracked on arrival and piece came away when polishing the hob top and tea towel caught the edge of the crack and a piece broke away. Just wish we’d taken a photo when first noticed-however as that was on 2nd day we’d probably still be charged. Main bed comfy but 2nd bed not so much. Shower trap seems not to have been cleaned out for a while causing slow water egress so quick showers the only way forward as couldn’t remove shower trap to clean it out. Didn’t use summerhouse as outside it needed a good clean and ‘cushions’ are really thin. All in all was ok but could be a lot better with more care. Area is lovely.
Danke nochmals!
Loved this cottage, we had a complete change this year from cooking massive family dinners to being just the two of us with the dogs.
Instead of Turkey and every possible thing we cooked Wagu beef, roast potatoes with horseradish and sourdough bread followed by pear and chocolate mousse, Boxing Day we watched wading small Egrets from the cabin , ate smoked salmon bagels with champagne.
What is not to like?
Thank you Joanna
We loved it x
