"Everything about this hotel was stellar. The room, gardens, restaurant, staff, and location were absolutely outstanding. I absolutely plan to return. Not a negative, but to be informative, I am 6’3”, and most historic structures were designed for much shorter people. That said, I only had to duck my head a couple of times. It will not impact in any way my decision to return. Couldn’t have been happier. "

"St Ives is a nice place, it still has a tradition, no chain, department store for goodness sake. The Golden Lion is a good base to explore from. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The bar and restaurant is nicely laid out and decorated. Breakfast was excellent. All in all, really nice. Would I stay again? Yes, most definitely."

"I checked in late to the hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was not being served apart from desserts or cheese board. They also advised the restaurant across the road were still serving food. I opted for the cheese board and was not disappointed. Lovely selection of stilton cheeses, biscuits and onion pickle. The hotel room I stayed was is in a period part of the property so had all of the lovely quirky bits (uneven floor, creaking wood, etc.). It was a large room and all...
