"Ace Hotel is away from the very touristy and busy center of Kyoto, yet is had a lot of restaurants and shops around it. If you are a good walker, you can walk to Kyoto Station, Nishiki Market and even the Imperial Palace.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
The room is quite large and comfortable.
There is a Stumptown Café downstairs."

"Our stay at SOYO-NE Kyoto Sanjo was just amazing! The hotel is in a perfect location, very close to everything, which made exploring Kyoto super easy.
The design of the hotel is stunning. It perfectly combines the feeling of a traditional Japanese stay with a modern, stylish atmosphere, almost like being in a James Bond movie!
Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. We truly enjoyed our time there and would definitely stay again on our next visit to Kyoto."

""A"... perhaps "the" classic ryokan. Relaxed (genuine) gracefullness that is not commercial or something you can teach. It is not a material luxury experience (there are many others who fit this expectation), so much as an unintentional unmannicured view into the past of old Kyoto. Very dreamy for me at least!. It felt like returning to my granny's house in post war Setayaga. Special. There are exceptional people among the staff whose heart beats echo mine and that era."

"This was a perfect place to experience Japan. It had traditional Japanese accomodations and food but also with many high tech conveniences. The staff was very helpful in getting us taxis to easily visit locations like the imperial palace or the Bamboo Forest. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a great experience in Kyoto. "

"This place is a total gem. I stayed here for 5 nights with my husband and two teenage daughters and the room was spacious enough for us to all feel very comfortable. The hotel is in a great neighborhood - walking distance to amazing shopping and so many great restaurants. My daughters said it was their favorite vacation we have ever taken as a family. We will definitely return to this hotel! "
