This property is not a hotel. It is a pub with rooms to let. It is misleading to think of this as a hotel. The beds were comfy and clean. The room itself was old fashioned and shabby with ripped carpets. The bathroom was appalling. No blind on the window which faced the village and had the toilet right next to it. The towel rail was over the toilet. The bathroom had a macerator which was really noisy, so you couldn't flush the toilet at night. The beds were made up incorrectly and we ended up making up separate beds as despite the room being a family one they assumed we were a couple. The hallway and entrance stair carpets were filthy and the place stank of very strong electric airfreshners. There was only a full English breakfast on offer and no alternative, which you would have to eat in the pub as there wasn't a dining room. It advertised Al a carte, but there were only basket meals available. Suffice to say we wouldn't recommend or return to this place.

Was overpriced for a very basic room that was noisy up until the pub had shut (I realise the rooms are above a pub but I stayed in another pub BnB the night before that was a lot quieter). Breakfast is extra on top of a high end price for this type of accomodation. Staff were helpful. So it gets an OK score rather than anything higher.

Nice place to stay

Perfect place to stop over prior to ferry or Chunnel crossing. Not too far to walk into town although it’s uphill all the way back. Friendly staff and very welcoming.

Lovely accommodation

A super two day break away.

This small hotel is clean and friendly. The food is all freshly prepared and cooked for each order. It was very tasty and well presented. Owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. They also welcome, for a small charge, well behaved dogs which is great if you own a pet that you cannot leave at home with someone else. Our little dog loved the area and there was a nice walk close by.

Friendly staff, convenient location from Port Lympne, not far from town centre, sky tv. However, very weak WiFi, room very small and needs some TLC. Was handy for the night but glad I used my Tesco points and didn’t spend my money. I think from other reviews it has just been taken over, so will be given a makeover soon.

We stayed here as we had a reservation at hide and fox resturant, perfect location as its almost opposite! Owners lovely, room was comfortable and clean, although a little dated and small. We only had a pre dinner drink in the pub so cant comment on the food as we opted to have brunch down in hythe the following morning. Room had tv with various channels, tea and coffee facilities, also shower gel and shampoo was provided in the shower room

We stayed here for one night. The pub is a proper old English pub. Nice garden to sit in even though it on the main road that runs through the village but it's not a problem as it seems very quiet. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Large selection of bear, larger and spirits. The food was reasonably priced and fresh. Room we stayed in had a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable as well as comfortable pillows. Some people will moan the decor is dated in the rooms and to a degree it is but it's clean and comfortable. I would say that in time this will be updated. The cost of living effects not just people but business as well. Front of house is what people see ie the pub which looks like it has not long been done so in time i am sure the rooms will be to. Only bad point is no milk in the morning for tea in the room as it had gone off. A small fridge in the room would solve the problem but not a big deal. If we are ever this way again i would stay here. And even recommend it to family and friends. Look forward to sticky toffee pudding if we go back.

Had 1 night here, great location for le shuttle. Perfect for what we needed, food was lovely! Only issue we had was the noises from the bathroom, when flushing the toilet or using the taps. They have a macerator system in place! Otherwise perfect for what we needed!

Very clean room with plenty of tea making facilities and lots of hot water, fluffy towels and a comfortable bed. Helpful full length mirror in bedroom. Some of the communal areas look a bit tired, but staff welcoming and room was great for my needs (staying overnight in area ready for family get together). Great location for Hythe and walk along seafront short drive away.

Had a twin bed room with my daughter for 2 nights. Room and beds were ok and in a quiet area apart from a few other guests who were quite noisy. Bit disappointed that the kitchen was not in use as we had a very long journey. Staff were very nice and helpful
