"An elegantly appointed fairly formal country house in a beautiful rural setting, not far from a tiny small village. The rooms are comfortable and the hosts provide a great breakfast. Access to and from the property from the A roads was interesting to say the least. Single lane “roads” for the 2 miles either side of the property require a fair degree of both caution and concentration. Some parts will barely allow a car to pass. That said, it is worth the trip. Just do it slowly!"

The Royal Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Did not have any meals. Room was excellent except for steps down to bathroom. House keeping was excellent with tea coffee and biscuits topped up each day also towels changed when required. Staff were cheerful and friendly. Only concern was sometimes noise from large vent pipe at end of the hotel. Would definitely use hotel again but ask for room at other end of the hotel. "

"The room was very clean, comfortable bed. All my basic needs for a one stop, just driving by. Staff were very friendly felt safe as single woman traveler. They could not do enough with any requests. I wished the TV was bigger and a working Arial signal was in the room. But I was not in the room much so it never really mattered. There was parking, luckily just outside the door. Would stay again if I visited."

Sandringham Hotel

"Staff at Sandringham Hotel were fabulous after we found that the room we’d bought through Hotels.com was not actually available. I put this firmly at Hotels.com’s door and not the Hotel. They couldn’t have been kinder and more generous on the circumstances. We had no choice but to go with the only room that was available the first night two adults, one 12 month old in a kind size bed - we coped. Staff worked hard to get us moved for our second night to a great room. They were so helpful. Amanda - I think that was her name (receptionist on arrival) was fabulous and she spoilt our son. It was a wonderful touch, above and beyond when the mistake was not the hotels. Recommend Sandringham - perfect location almost opposite the Pier with plenty of eateries nearby too."

"On the whole we enjoyed our stay. The food really and staff were very nice. The decor was a little dated and the room smelt a little musty, which wasnt really a problem. I was looking forward to having a bath after a 200 mile drive. Unfortunately there were black spots around the corners of the silicon on the edge of the bath. Then I turned the taps on I went back to the bath to check on it and there were things floating in the bath. I emptied it a tried again. I did this 4 times. Every time there was stuff coming out of the taps. When I brought it to the hotels attention. Is all they said was that there was repairs going on in the street and it could of been that. This happened the following evening too. As regards the matter the hotel staff were not very helpful but they were polite. When your paying for a suite I would have thought that they would of been able to help us a bit more. I ended up washing in the sink. The breakfast was very nice. I would consider staying there again. Please dont take this review as all bad. Everything else about the hotel was very nice as were the staff. It was just that they wasnt helpful with one issue. If I was staying there longer than 2 nights I would have asked for another room."
