Accommodating up to 12 guests (max 8 adults), it offers a relaxing, family-friendly retreat with three spacious covered decks to enjoy nature. Located in a neighborhood-style resort (not secluded) near local attractions, restaurants, and Rocky Top Sports, the cabin provides convenient access to a walkable pool (open May–Sept) and a nearby recreation area with another pool, basketball, swings, grills, and a reservable pavilion.

Mudpuppies & Moonshine Cabin is not a typical rental managed by a big company. We are small (only 4 properties), family owned & operated, and we're always as close as a call, text, or email. We're certain you'll enjoy your stay at Mudpuppies & Moonshine Cabin just as much as we do. When you compare Mudpuppies & Moonshine Cabin to others of similar size, you'll see how much we strive to make it affordable, relaxing, and enjoyable!

Mudpuppies & Moonshine Cabin is in beautiful Mountain Shadows Resort within the city limits of Gatlinburg. There are cameras at the resort entrance, adjacent cabins, and on the front porch of the cabin showing the front porch and parking in front of the cabin. The surveillance devices may capture video and audio. No cameras inside the cabin or any that intrude on private space. Cabin has parking for 2 vehicles. No campers, RVs, or trailers are permitted in the resort. Security deposit, ID verification, and signed rental agreement are all required.

The cabin was wonderful and clean, well stocked kitchen. The bathrooms were gorgeous with great water pressure. The drive up is steep and parking is on an incline. Drive in to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were both simple. Overall, we were very happy with our stay that included adults, teens, and children.

We absolutely have nothing negative we could say about the cabin or owners! Everything was exactly as described and the owners were great with communication! Cabin was great. It list most of the rooms as first floor but the cabin is actually three stories. Master on main floor but others are in basement or first floor and master bedroom on first. Other than that it was great.

This was our first family vacation which included our adult kids and grandchildren with a combined total of 10 people. We decided to rent a cabin in Gatlinburg and chose the Mudpuppies and Moonshine. The cabin was well stocked, clean and cozy with each family having their own floor to themselves. It’s close to town with easy access to the main highway, attractions and the Artist District is about a 5 minute drive. April and Dave were prompt in responding to any questions or issues and were prompt in releasing our security deposit after inspecting the cabin. The check-in/out was a breeze. On the flip side, the cabin’s living room is a bit small to accommodate large gatherings, the entrance to the addition and parking were quite a challenge-not something any of us would want to do in inclement weather. Overall, the cabin has tons of room, the arcades, shuffleboard and bunk beds were a hit with the grandkids and the pool table and hot tub were fun for the adults.

We stayed in Moonshine and Mudpuppies Cabin with our three teenagers and senior citizen parents. The main floor was perfect for our parents with access to the amenities without the need for climbing stairs. The kids enjoyed the lower level’s quietness so they could sleep late even with early rising grandparents along. The upper level game room was fun for all ages. With the openness to the main floor everyone felt together whether their energy level had them shooting pool upstairs or watching tv in the living room. All around everyone enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed it. We had 9 people (4 adults). The bunk bed set up was perfect for the kids, and the upstairs loft area was fun for all. The hot tub was also a hit, and the kitchen was well stocked to have dinners in.

Great location, very accessible to Gatlinburg, the national park, and Pigeon Forge. Very roomy cabin, plenty of space for our family of 10. Loved the game room! Not much of a view, but we did have multiple bear sightings from the back deck of the cabin. The roads in the resort are quite steep so be prepared to park on an incline. Cabins are close together, but we never felt closed in or bothered by neighbors.

My son got married so my family rented the cabin so we could be together. The cabin was excellent for a large group. Game room was fun. There is 1 BR on the main floor, perfect for my parents (no stairs). The upstairs bed room gets warm bc heat rises, but there is a separate unit to cool it. Owners were quick to respond with questions and issues. (Garbage full, light out over stove) Nothing major. The only reason this wasn't a perfect cabin was the hill to get to the cabin was very steep. Only 1 car had issues so we parked it elsewhere. All suvs were able to handle the road (Chevy equinox, Toyota Highlander, Jeep Cherokee, Ford expedition Max, Dodge Pick up, Honda mini van) People were giving rides, taking wedding stuff etc. 3 parking places for cabin is the limit as all cabins stayed full around us. I would def rent again. 3 generations and 1 Groom enjoyed the stay.

The cabin was in excellent shape! Very clean, easily accessible for all of us. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Bathrooms were unique and very nice. We would stay here again!
