"Check-in for our room was delayed by about an hour. They did try to compensate us with casino vouchers, but since we do not gamble or drink, they were not very useful to us, especially because you still had to make a purchase to use them. They also offered a 20% restaurant discount, which was appreciated. The front desk told me they would send a message when the room was ready, but I never received a call or text. We came back about two hours later only to find out the room had actually been ready an hour earlier. That miscommunication was frustrating. As for the food, it was okay. We were told they did not have avocados, but then I saw a server bring avocados to another table, which was a little disappointing. That said, the property was very clean, and the room itself was amazing. Aside from the communication issues, our stay was overall amazing."

"Staff was friendly and helpful and went above and beyond; although there were times when the pool bar or the cafe were busy and there was only one person working; it would make it easier for them if they had some support! It would also be nice if breakfast had some more options and was out a bit longer, people are on vacation and might want to sleep in a bit without worrying about getting downstairs before 9am. My biggest disappointment was the shuttle bus; I booked this hotel because the shuttle bus seemed so convenient, but it was super unreliable, and we were only able to use it for two rides on one day of our trip. It seemed like they would be running on a continuous loop, and you'd have to wait 15 minutes or so, maybe up to half an hour or so for a bus which is fine, but this wasn't really the case. One day, we wasted precious vacation time waiting for over forty five minutes for a bus before giving up and calling an Uber. In addition, there was a bit of a learning curve: if you made your own way to Old San Juan or the T Mobile District for example, but wanted to get the bus back, you couldn't tell where the bus was supposed to pick you up. It would also be helpful if it ran a little later. Many days we planned on taking the bus to our destination and then Ubering back because we wanted to stay later than 5pm....but as I mentioned earlier, we were often unable even to take the bus to our destination. Adding more buses and drivers to make this amenity usable is a must!"

"Amazing staff. Room was okay, scuffed walls and ceiling, white stuff on the bottom of shower door, rusty around balcony door. Cleaning team daily was great. Pool was great, warm, perfect for kids not too deep. Pool across the street was more of a party/alcohol vibe. Beach across the street was amazingly clean and perfect for kids, included chairs and umbrella. "

"We just had a nice stay at hotel caribe. Yes the hotel is old and could use some tlc (bathroom door was VERY hard to open from the inside and a couple times friends outside of bathroom had to open it), but nothing that would be a dealbreaker.. our main complaint was double beds for a 4 person room, which are barely big enough for 2 adults to sleep in.. queen size should be standard especially when you are traveling with friends and aren’t planning to spoon each other at night 😬 the front desk staff were great but I want to give a special shoutout to Patricia who was soooo nice and helpful. The hotel is on very close proximity to old San Juan, the excursions like rain forest, boats to icaco island and fajarda are about an hour drive so too far to uber.. we rented a car but it seemed like the hotel had good options to get you to those activities… overall it was a nice hotel but felt a little on the pricey side for the rooms that you get"

"Overall, we had a good time. However, our first day and check-in experience was disappointing due to an interaction with Jesus at the front desk. The day before our trip, we called to request an early check-in since our flight was arriving at 1 PM. The gentleman we spoke with said it should not be an issue. When we arrived, a young lady informed us that our room was not ready yet, but that she would text us as soon as it was available. At 4 PM, the stated check-in time, we went back to the desk to ask about our room. Jesus told us, “We texted you.” I explained that I had not received any text, and he responded, “Oh well, we texted.” My husband then asked if he felt that was the right way to handle the situation, especially since we had been told the day before that early check-in should be possible and were also asked earlier that day to give it another hour. I wanted to share this because when traveling, you hope to enjoy your trip from the very first moment. Unfortunately, this interaction took away from that experience. It was especially disappointing because this trip was our honeymoon."

"The location is good. The place is nice, but the pool wasn't clean. Additionally, we had problems with the bathroom; water started leaking everywhere. The staff was excellent."
