Needs a good clean. Overall the place was spotlessly clean. Came across 1 cockroach. Pool was good. Cleaning staff and security are very pleasant. Front desk not sufficiently manned. "

"Handy and nice hotel for Durban. Location not on the beach but good enough. There is 24 hours security and secure car park. The breakfast and restaurant is very good. This round my room is facing the road, can be a bit noisy compare to inward facing room."

"It was a good stay ,one knows what to expect from a City Lodge, and, they deliver. The stay pleasant, the staff are great, friendly and efficient. The room is good, probably needs an upgrade (my humble opinion), the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is adequate. The shower door did not shut fully and was somewhat bothersome. I did not have time for breakfast, but, I know that the breakfast here is good. Decent variety, very fresh and really nice staff to give you a good start to your day. I...

"Had to book this as an emergency change when the initial hotel I booked (Avondale) was not available/closed. Turned out to be a great option. Amazing service and right by the beach, making it easy to get to the Comrades expo and start line. Definitely worth it. "

It seemed clean but is old and washed through. The pillows also need urgent replacing. I had breakfast on the first morning but was disappointed as it was cold and not appealing.
