The Stanley Hotel

"The staff were very courteous and even apologized for the large crowd that got a little loud at the bar while eating dinner. The hotel was clean and we had ample supply of fresh towels and toiletries in our room. My only complaint was that the parking situation was not ideal and loads of construction around the hotel that did not allow us to access and enjoy all the amenities they had to offer. The rose garden was half blocked off; we did not even get to view the pool area. In addition, there were cranes obstructing our mountain view from our room and we were awakened by construction noise in the morning during our stay. Also, when booking through Expedia, I was under the impression I booked a room in the hotel but later discovered that Expedia booked our room in the lodge. I thought that this was a little deceiving considering the room I booked stated Stanley Hotel and then details revealed Lodge."

"While the rooms were clean, they were small but the hotel just had a comfy feel that was inviting. The town was crowded beyond belief but the Discovery Lodge provided an escape right next to the chaos. The view from our second floor balcony was spectacular and the benches next to the pond were so relaxing, I didn't get to try the breakfast as we left for the Rocky Mountain National Park too early to partake. I would definitely stay there again."

"Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is very good with close access to the park as well as restaurants and shops. Beds were clean and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was wonderful. However, bathroom is tiny. There is no dresser to put away clothes. Kitchen was functional, but old and tired. Also, be warned you will hear every footstep above you if you are on the first floor. We were awakened very early (4-5AM) every morning by guests heading to the park early. If I were to return, I would request a room on the second floor. I would also suggest renovating the kitchens."

"We stayed at Serenity cabin for 6 nights and it was the perfect house for our getaway to the Colorado Rockies. It was very peaceful and we all felt very comfortable there. Mary was a great host and the house was stocked with everything we ever needed. The location is great and it’s walking distance to downtown Estes park where there’s restaurants and shops. It only took about 10 minutes or less to get to RMNP entrance. The hot tub is definitely a bonus to the property. I highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a place in Estes Park."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Redemption Cabin! The cabin was clean, quaint and cozy. It was a nice mix of historic touches and updates, such as the well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed being a short walk to town and restaurants. My daughter and I loved walking every morning on the River Walk to the golf course and lakes. We were a short drive to RMNP. The hosts were extremely helpful. I definitely recommend!"
