"Burke's River View is every bit as good as the description promises. It is furnished tastefully with high quality furniture and beds. The kitchen is fully and excellently equipped for a serious cook. The room arrangement is very workable with master bed and bath on one side and separated second bedroom and bath on the other; large open communal space between. Location is great - at night with screened doors and windows let in the sound of the river rushing across a small rapids. Security is suitably protective.Host is proactive, also easy to reach if necessary and quick to explain and/or solve any problem. Truly excellent host.."

"A beautiful cottage overlooking the hills of Elkton. Quiet, small town - except for the logging trucks barreling down into town (but it IS Oregon) - with a great grocery/everything store and 2 restaurants and a Mexican food cart. The Osprey were raising their chicks on their designated telephone pole along the river in April, which was fun to watch. You could hear them flying overhead calling to each other.Then the rhododendrons came out between the cottage and the next one over. Wow! Brilliant colors.The carport is a bonus as the parking is snug for the other 4 cottages in this complex.Having the cottage professionally cleaned before we arrived would have been nice. My only comment.You can certainly get a good hike in walking the town’s hills though up at the water tower there’s a dirt road that goes for a few miles through some gorgeous trees and wild flowers.And, if you're a walker, you can go from here along Elk Creek on Schad Rd as it’s beautiful, ending in an equestrian ranch and vineyard. It takes about 50 minutes each way. You get to it by going under the bridge.ECCE also has a lovely walking trail as well as gardening education and starts, a monarch hatching hut and the replica of Fort Umpqua which has so much history.Listen for the church bells at 9:45 every Sunday morning. They made me feel like I belonged to a small community of very friendly people.We stayed for 2 and 1/2 months while house hunting and William was very helpful and gracious."

"Easy to settle into a clean and spacious property with fantastic views. The kitchen was nicely appointed, linens were clean and extra blankets found in handy places to curl up & read. The hot tub, & game room were a hit with teens and the full length porch was lovely at all times of the day or night. The are was very quiet and had a lovely walk down the lane!"

"This place is exactly like the pictures everything there was needed. House had everything that we needed. I still give this place five stars. The only negative is when we got there the yard and weeds needed some attention."
