"Unacceptable for £60. I expected to be able to sleep well at the very least. The place is out of date, staff attitude is no can do the "spa" comprises of two store cupboard sized rooms next to the weights in the gym. ( Not pool side but down the far end of the gym which you have to walk through) The sauna cupboard, fits 3 people, it stank of sickly sweat because it's used predominantly by local gym members, young 20+ men for sweating post work out. They walked in with out showering and in their gym shorts!...and the conversation was loud and crude. The changing rooms were public pool style with push button showers, no temperature control. This is a basic gym not a spa! So don't come here if your looking for an actual spa experience. My room smelt of cold cooking oil as it was above the kitchen. The curtains let in so much light at night and during the day that I could read the time on my watch with out needing to turn on a light at 2am. There was no sound proofing. I could hear the chefs coughing downstairs in the kitchens, banging metal trays, talking and listening to music at 9 p.m. and from 6:30 in the morning. I did not stay my second night but went to Day's Inn down the road for a comfortable clean quiet nights sleep and for £10 less. Staff are under trained and probably poorly supported so are not able / willing to assist or use initiative."

"Very depressing decorations and too dark"

"I will start off and say that the staff are super lovely at this hotel, really friendly and approachable. I have visited in the past and always remembered that the staff were helpful. However, unfortunately me and my partner did not have a great stay this time round. Our room was super small, although we did have a slight window which made a difference. The bathroom had stains on the floor and the shower and toilet slightly flooded, potentially something wrong with the drains? Our bed was super firm and we have both woken up with sore backs due to it. It felt as if we were sleeping on a hard floor. Some loud customers were slamming doors in the early hours of the morning which also woke us up. I booked this for my partners birthday and we had a really great time but sadly I am not too sure if we will return mainly due to how uncomfortable the bed was! Again, I want to highlight that the staff who work at this hotel are great and super friendly so such a shame about our stay. "

"I can't fault this hotel or the staff we met. We had a great night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Lovely touches like a mini bar with complimentary soft drinks. It is in a central location, and apart from the fact it doesn't have a car park it is an ideal place to stay. A special shout out to Jenny at reception who went out of her way to be helpful."

"We arrived and got put in a small room where the windows wouldn’t open and the camp bed for our daughter was broken, but after a disappointing start we were moved into a much nicer room with the staff being very lovely about it. The rest of the stay was wonderful, it’s a short stroll into Bath Centre, the spa whilst very busy and cramped at times was nicer when it was quieter, the breakfast room was quite special although the fruit selection could have been a bit broader the hot breakfast was delicious. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful, all in all we had a very nice stay and would definitely stay again."

"Lovely hotel in a good location. Parking at Charlotte street was easily pre paid online. Rooms were huge with comfortable beds and a great shower and were very quiet. Would have liked bottled water in addition to the teas and coffees supplied but it’s a minor point. Pool was fab, we had it all to ourselves! Good breakfast with a cold self serve buffet then an excellent choice of hot food to order along with cappuccinos, lattes etc. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely visit again."
